My wife and I were in Amsterdam for a short vacation with my brother and his wife. I choose this restaurant for her birthday.. and I made a great choice! They selected for us a lovely table with a great view on the canal, a lot of space, a romantic atmosphere in a private and quiet place inside the restaurant. The ladies serving us were very friendly and helpful. We got the 6 chef-entry menù and we loved them all. I am from Italy and we were asked from the chef to provide an opinion for the ravioli with lobster .. our score was 7 for the pasta 9 for the filler. We drank an eccellent prosecco .. and we closed this esperience with a coconut semifreddo with sunflowers and with one of the ladies singing happy birthday for my wife. The dinner was not cheap but inline with my expectations and reasonable for what we got. So to conclude.. lovely, friendly, cozy place with excelent food.

A lovely restaurant overlooking the canal with charming service, great food, and reasonable prices. We loved it. This is classic French food, but served with a creative flair by a chef who clearly loves to make delicious dishes. We'll be back!

Just the type of intimate ambience that we like, the server and chef were very accommodating to my dietary restrictions … and oh yeah, the food was great!

Fantastic kitchen with kind and efficient serving staff. We really enjoyed the unique dishes invented by the chefs. Multiple, really interesting and so very tasty surprises. Total positive recommendation and on our list to visit again.

During our two recent visits to De Compagnon, we brought along different friends to share in the dining experience. All of them, without exception, were impressed and pleased with the dishes' flavor and quality. We would especially like to acknowledge Salomé for her consistent, attentive service that left a lasting impression on us. Moreover, Bert's cordiality and charisma added a personal touch that truly made us feel welcome. When tasting each dish, the passion and precision with which they are prepared become evident. Each ingredient seems to have been chosen with care, and the presentation is impeccable. Bert personally oversees all in-house preparations daily. The 7-course tasting menu offers a true culinary journey, where each course leads us to discover new flavors and textures. We deeply appreciate the warm attention and are eager to return to discover more of what this wonderful place has to offer.

The restaurant was friendly, and the service was quite perfect. The food was a little disappointing. Luckily, we get bread with some salt that we could use to make flavour. We saw the chef out of the kitchen many times. Or he went to smoke either to use the computer in front to make a sligro order, which gave us the impression that he didn't have too much to do even with the restaurant almost fully booked. It was an experience, but I wouldn't indicate it to a friend or return soon.

Wonderful experience, we felt very comfortable with the service. Thank you

Very quiet for the area, quite a striking setting! And very affordable for the quality.

hidden in the touristic hart of Amsterdam, this little gem is a great place to have a dinner with friends overlooking the canal . Food was excellent and service too. Highly recommended

Great place with good food. Definitely price/quality wise. Food came quite fast as did every followup except desert. Can be a bit hard to find (in back of an alley towards the water). Interesting compact venue, makes it quite cosy, although if you're not good with stairs or invalid it could be less suitable for you.

Great place, close to the central station to meet up and relaxing place to meet up with friends. The waitresses had some great suggestions and we were pleasantly surprised by the Chef's menu.

What a surprise to have Michelin quality service and food. I would have given it 6 stars if it was possible.

Har high expectations for this restaurant because I heard great things about it online. The food was okey but not GREAT. The waiter took away My plate before I was done, and there was a lot of noice in the restaurant.

Lovely small restaurant with great food in the center of Amsterdam. The menu was amazing. Great wine list with many options at a variety of price points. Highly recommend. I was there for a business dinner and I think it could also be a perfect place for a romantic dinner as well. Get a table by the window overlooking the canal.

Very special location in the city center of Amsterdam, with a nice view on the River. Very good service and great Cuisine!

On a whim we used the FORK app and looked for a boutique restaurant that could accommodate us on short notice on a Friday in Amsterdam. What a gem we found. Just 5 tables and tucked away just off the red light district on the canal. The ambience was amazing and so was the food. We took the 4 course menu with ample wine and had a great food experience. All the attention to details such as switching out silverware with each course and asking whether you were ready for the next course. Highly recommended! Actually amazing compares to the very best places we have eaten.

This little restaurant on the main canal was a great find. We ate downstairs in the wine cellar, was a lovely experience. The food was excellent, especially the scallop/shrimp appetizer with caviar. Our bottle of Poulley-Fume was exceptional!

We were very disappointed. Service took one hour to deliver starter, another 60 minutes for Main course, which was served cold instead of hot , and was a piece of dry fish with 2 uncooked asparagus with it. The ambiente was a very cold cellar, crammed with tables, room at water Level which makes the rooms humid. No aircon, no heating.

Very nice cozy place. We have tried the 5 courses chef menu, nice plates, with good products. Service is nice and even the place. Thanks.

Excellent service, adorable establishment, and delicious food.

We had a very nice experience. We have been visiting the restaurant for the last 6 years and when we mentioned a dish that we loved before but not in the Menu anymore, just for us the kitchen made the dish and served us as a treat. It was a very nice gesture from the restaurant. This time the Menu was not amazing but the quality was still very good. We will definitely go back in the future.

Very tasty and well presented food, good service. Limited wine list- mostly French wines but great champagne.

An uncommon experience in a doll house. Not that the internal design is that mesmerizing, but this vertical small town house on the water and the culinary experience made it special. Some of the courses could be slighlty fine tuned, but the generosity of the chef and his french inspiration make you forgive the small imperfections. Like for the anchovies in the scallops a little too dominant. But where else in Amsterdam can you get such diversified meals with the touch of a 1 star restaurant? It is not only about the taste and the complexity of the cuisine, but also the soul of this little place lost in a dead end on the water, but in the center of one of the most beautiful city in the world.

Small intimate restaurant tucked away with a view over the canal is perfect. Amazing food choices delivered with style and a wine list to die for
