It was my last night in Amsterdam and the staff made it memorable with great service and enthusiasm, and the classic Dutch food was very tasty and homely.

The food was absolutely delicious, the staff polite and welcoming. We don't eat pork, and they happily answered our questions about which dishes were pork-free. The main meal did take a while to be ready, but it was worth it. The presentation was great, the food was hot and fresh, and we very much enjoyed it.

Not sure why this place is rated so high. The service was really attentive. But it stops here. The food was mediocre at best, with the beef stew being extremely chewy to the point where you just can’t eat the meat. The atmosphere is an atmosphere. Period. The patrons obviously love to eat, eat a lot. Come here for portions, rather than quality and taste.
