I’ve been to Diurno a few times now, and it’s easily one of my favorite spots in Chueca. The vibe is cool and effortless—it used to be a video club, so the layout feels unique and the big windows are perfect for people-watching while you eat. I highly recommend the Iberian pork cannelloni; it’s incredibly rich and savory. The fried aubergines with honey are also a must-order every time. Service is usually spot-on, though it can get a bit frantic during the Sunday brunch rush. It’s reliable, stylish, and the food never misses the mark.

7/10I recently visited Diurno in Madrid and while the food was excellent, the service unfortunately missed the mark. The dishes arrived promptly, full of flavour, and felt genuinely authentic — truly one of the highlights of the evening. However, the service left much to be desired. From the moment we arrived, there was no host to welcome us and we had to call someone over to be seated. Our waitress, Daniela, gave the impression that helping us was more of a favour than part of her job. She wasn’t attentive, friendly, or proactive, which really took away from the overall dining experience. Other staff members seemed more pleasant but still not engaged — we had to flag them down multiple times throughout the meal. For a restaurant of Diurno’s calibre, I expected a higher standard of service to match the quality of the food. I hope this was just an off day, because with great dishes like these, the dining experience could easily be a 10/10 with more attentive and welcoming service.

9.5/10We really enjoyed our meal at Diurno. The food was creative and fabulous. The ambience of the restaurant is eclectic and fun while at the same time being warm and cozy. The service was fine but Not as warm and friendly as the restaurant seemed. But overall it was a restaurant that we would recommend and hope to return to the next time we are in Madrid.

9.5/10A lovely restaurant with really tasty food. We went at 6.30pm and it was a little quiet but was getting busier as we were leaving. The service and staff were great. Thank you. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

10/10The staff was friendly and helpful, I had cancelled my reservation because of a time constraint but we arrived earlier and they adjusted the reservation so we could still eat and we still got our discount! Food and ambience were great as well!

We dined here and had 2 appetizers and 2 mains. We had dined at another restaurant the night before Mercado De La Reina which we didn’t realize until sitting down that this was the same chain and had almost identical menus. I had the octopus in potato cream and found it almost like a thick soup, didn’t love the dish. Had the fried avocado to start and it was good. My husband had the croquettes and the pork belly tacos he said they were both 7/10. Price was a bit high for the value.

Located in the heart of Chueca, it's one of the best and most pleasant restaurants in Madrid. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere is quite pleasant. The food is excellent, with well-served dishes, harmoniously presented, and delicious.

5/10The hostess was very nice and placed us at a great window table. From there, things went south. The server barely greeted us, provided no recommendations, and never checked in while we ate. The pork ribs were good. The lasagna dish mediocre at best.

Warm décor set the stage for a memorable meal. We started with perfectly crisp patatas bravas and tender grilled octopus with just the right char. The grilled monkfish was delicate and well-seasoned, and dessert — a warm apple tart with silky Madagascar vanilla ice cream — was pure comfort. Service was mixed: our server was skilled but a bit dry, while the rest of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Beautifully presented food, inviting atmosphere, and enough charm to make us want to return.
