The food was of top quality. While the cost was reasonable. The host was very good and tried very hard to make sure we had a good evening. Unfortunately there were a number of empty tables which I do hope can be filled soon as the quality of food and the thought put into the food offering deserves it.

Our dining experience was fantastic from start to finish with Pietro’s team at Taverna Rossa ! My ribeye was delicious and the roasted vegetables & potatoes were outstanding as well ! A great choice to dine by the sea !

The restaurant is a little off the beaten track but worth making the effort for - you would be advised to book ahead as it was fully booked when we visited. For our starters two of us ordered the Angus meatballs (they were lovely and you get a large portion - enough to share) and two of us ordered the melted provolone cheese (again a lovely dish). It was meat all round for our main courses with two of us ordering the filet steak and two the ribeye - the steaks were very good. The restaurant is owned and run by a husband and wife combination and the service from them and all the team was very good - great explanation of the dishes and friendly service. We enjoyed a bottle of Etna Rosso Sensi from Cantine Patria, made exclusively from the nerello mascalese grape, with our dinner and it was really nice. A lovely meal with great service - we would be recommend dining there to anyone.

Greeted and served immediately, we were a little concerned at first as there were no other diners. So the atmosphere did suffer. But we were shortly left wondering why as the food was delicious and service excellent. Incredibly reasonably priced aswell

The staff were super knowledgable about food they serve. They recommended dishes that were local specialties and made with seasonal ingredients. Food was very tasty. Will come back again.

Delicious steak restaurant in Palermo, A real gem away tucked from the centre but so well worth seeking out, Great service, our waitress was so attentive, she gave us great tips and it was amazing value for money,

Memorable Dinner! Away from the overcrowded center but still near enough for an easy walk, the restaurant is staffed by attentive and friendly people. Our dinner was meatball starters, with pork ribs and a ribeye for mains with the vegetable pie and fries for sides. All of the food was well prepared and the prices were very fair. The decor is simple but chic. Highly recommend!

Really had a nice evening. The service was just perfect. I think the steak that I had was likely one of the tenderest steaks I have had, perfectly cooked. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

Really enjoyed ambience, food and service. Nice prices. We only speak English and they were able to communicate well in English. I would recommend highly.

Very nice ambiance and wait staff. Very accommodating for our no salt request because of health issues. Meat was done perfectly and the sides were great. Very good quality of food for price. Not very touristy. Nice neighborhood.

What a fantastic restaurant this is. The steaks were the star of the show but the side dishes, starters and desserts were just as good. The service was outstanding with everything being explained and recommendations made. Would definitely recommend.

A really great steakhouse. The food is superb, the service friendly and knowledgeable, the room is warm and inviting. Nothing pretentious about this place, just great food (if you’re a carnivore).

This restaurant is a little out from the centre of town but well worth the walk, from the moment we walked through the door the welcome and service was fantastic. We both had steaks which were outstanding, probably the best ever. Being away from the centre also meant the price was very good. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous night here. Everything was perfect. The welcome when we walked in, the look and feel of the restaurant, service and the food. We had the meatballs to share and then the rump steak and the pork ribs. The food was perfectly cooked and so tasty. A lovely selection of wines and beers. This is one of the few restaurants in Sicily, where the service has NOT been transactional!! We have been to some nice places, but would never go back as no warmth or service from the staff. So, thanks to our delightful waitress, the manager and the kitchen staff, for making it a special and memorable evening.

We had delicous meat cuts.. Especially the rib eye was so tender and very tasty. Don't forget to have excellent dessert after.

One of the best meals I’ve had in my 2 years in Italy. Great service and the atmosphere is cozy. It is a must to reserve a table beforehand.

Bellissimo!! For us it was the best restaurant in Palermo. Other restaurants can learn from the incredible hospitality. It was an enlightning experience. If you want quality food, meat them! If you end up here you are lucky! Thank you for a great night!

This was a great choice for a delicious meal. The food was delicious well prepared and very tasty. The quality of the steak was excellent as was the wine. The service was amazing with great detail given to everything. I would recommend this restaurant very highly

A very good steak restaurant in Palermo, that is a bit away from the tourist area, but still easy to reach by walking. We skipped starters since we already ate a lot these days, but from the look the neighbors had some good starters. We had a very dry Sicilian red wine and ordered both meat. I had a fantastic local beef filet with a cold pumpkin side dish (something new and tasty). In the end we shared a superb chocolate cake with liquid pistachio sauce. Everything was as expected or better!

Cozy little restaurant serving great food. The portions were generous and the prices were more than reasonable for the quality of food. The serving staff was attentive, spoke English and made some great recommendations. To top it off ouch pooch was welcome inside! If you’re in Palermo and fancy a good steak - look no further and visit DOC Cucina e Griglia. You will definitely enjoy it.

A really warm welcome without being intrusive. The staff were knowledgeable about their steaks and the food was really good. My wife had polpetti, excellent, and my steak was properly blue and good meat. The range of puddings wasn't huge but what there was was first rate. Loved the cheesecake. At the end we didn't have to ask for our discount (I'd actually forgotten about it) but it was automatically knocked off. I'd happily eat there again and cannot recommend it too highly.

The restaurant was a great find! The table was ready and the atmosphere was really friendly. The service was good, however at times, I felt that they were trying too hard to please us. We started with two starters and two main course. The food was fresh and really tasty. The portions are big so I recommend to not order too many starters, we weren't able to finish the meat, we had to leave it behind, which is a shame because the cut was really tender and tasty The bill was also something that caught my attention, very..very...honest and for the quality of the food I would say very cheap. We will definitely go back and try other dishes.
