Wonderful service, incredible food and a beautiful atmosphere.

A very good wine cellar, but some popular wines are overpriced. The main problem with the restaurant is that it has not developed much in the gastronomic direction, the restaurant is too conservative. The dishes in the restaurant are of high quality and the balance of taste and visual presentation is maintained, individual dishes deserve compliments for achieving harmony of taste between the products it consists of. Good service and a very professional and friendly staff. It should be noted that the chef comes out to talk to each guest of the restaurant and invites everyone to visit his kitchen. The weak point of the restaurant is the dessert section, there is very little creativity, the sorbets are too frozen, small sweets are not offered with hot drinks such as coffee and tea, which is very strange and stands out from the traditional approach of Michelin-starred restaurants and the Relais&Chateaux system.

From the moment I walked in it seemed everyone made an effort to get to know something about me, I was given a tour of the kitchen and the property which was wonderful. And don’t even get me started on the food it seems as if every dish was better than the last!

An evening we will always remember. The welcome, the tour of grounds, wine cellar & kitchen and meeting the family. Together with wonderful food served in beautiful surroundings. We were celebrating my daughter's 40th birthday and we couldn't have had a better experience

Not only is this beautiful restaurant in a beautiful property. It is an oasis of both charm and calm. We felt at once that we were truly welcome guests to a family's home, and that extended even to being invited to visit the superb chefs in their exemplary kitchen. Not for nothing is the staff entry marked "artists' entrance" - artists indeed.

We had an outstanding experience at Don Alfonso. The meal was excellent, delicious food with elegantly presented dished, welcoming kind and professional staff offering very good service. We greatly enjoyed our dinner and would defined recommend it; the restaurant lives up to its reputation.

Our visit to don alfonso was a wonderfull experiance. The food was exelent the service was perfect but after you meet the owners you understand!! They are the inspiration to it all and they are the reason i never write reviews but i wanted to write this one from the heart

Very lovely and gentle owners who shared interesting information about their property including their organic farm at the coast opposite Capri. Stunning wine cellar with more than 25.000 bottles from many different countries and an Etruscan stair case and tunnel. Definitely worth a stay!

+3An amazing place that combines an inventive and delicious meal, attentive service and an upscale ambiance. I had the 7 course «Degustazzione» menu. Each thing was wonderful. The owners, Mario and Alphonso, come to greet you personally. I had a pleasant chance to see the kitchen and greet Ernesto, the chef as well. Don’t miss a chance to see the famed wine cellar. It’ll wow you!

Everything you’d expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. Was so thrilled to be seated outside, I believe this added to the magic of my experience. The staff were almost over attentive at times but still an amazing experience with stunning menu and beautiful surroundings.

Timing of food and wine must be better. Food was served before the sommelier had asked or served the wine. The sommelier should show the guests the wine list and recommend for different dishes. Apart from that the staff was very friendly and paid much attention. The atmosphere was very nice.

Superb experience all round. We had a fantastic meal, with a superb level of service. Also enjoyed a visit to the wine cellar and a kitchen tour. The staff are excellent, and the owner is a gracious host. Her passion for food and service is clear to see.

I had a good meal but would be better if the dinner could finish before 12am. it's kind of bed time for us and other than that, everything was great!

It was an amazing gastronomic experience from start to end. We ordered the tasting menu and were absolutely delighted by the creativity and assembly of every dish. Very fresh, seasonal and organic produce were used (from the farm that the family owns). Particular stand-outs for us were the duck breast with cinnamon vinaigrette and Apple sauce, the capelli (like tortellini) stuffed with veal and dressed with shaved black truffle, and the Apple dessert. The service was impeccable and warm, and the lady owner and maître d (one of the sons, the other is the Chef ) walked around to talk to all the guests. Not to be a spoiler for any potential guests, but the family who runs the hotel and restaurant are really something and the experience goes beyond just the food, fantastic as it was. Completely worth the rave reviews and the bus trip (and taxi fare) back to our Positano accommodation.

make sure to confirm booking with the restaurant directly as they have never received Trip Advisor's request and they were full. The owners were extremely nice and put an extra table to make sure we did not suffer from Trip Advisor's mistake. Nothing like an old fashion telephone confirmation... Restaurant was just perfect. it is costly as other 2 stars but so much worth it. They have offered us to visit the 25 000 btl wine cellar and the kitchen. Great experience. Food is top. Atmosphere is top. Family is doing extra miles to make this outstanding and they have succeeded.

Everything about Don Alfonso was memorable. It was not cheap but, nevertheless, worth every penny. The owners (Livia, Ernesto, Mario and Chef Alfonso) are very courteous and warm.
