10/10Booked for Christmas night,arrived early but asked for the a la carte menu. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiters. Food was exceptional quality,service was polite and efficient and friendly. It is fine dining and you pay for what you get. Overall ,great for a special occasion and would highly recommend.

10/10We arrived early, prior to 7:00 pm. We ordered from the lunch menu which was very good but limited. We will return for dinner (cena).

10/10We’ve eaten at many restaurants over the last 8 days in Rome. Our best meal was at our hotel in The Doney. Both mine and my husband’s meals exceeded our expectations. Absolutely delicious… the lamb was the best I’ve ever tasted and the steak filet was exceptional. I highly recommend.

9/10The quality of the food and the service were first class. The decor and furnishings were excellent. The only downside was that during our visit the restaurant was fairly empty making the atmosphere unfortunately sterile despite the staffs good humour and knowledge of their produce. Nevertheless, a great meal and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

10/10Great dinner. Service was top notch. Really enjoyed the evening. Atmosphere was perfect. Wine selection was extensive and well balanced. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

8/10Very quiet. Lovely restaurant. Great service and food. Could not fault but the hotel had a posh do on so we were dining alone but we liked that! Would recommend.

10/10We ate dinner at the Doney twice and enjoyed both nights. It's a beautiful restaurant and the food was delicious. The staff were very attentive. We also enjoyed breakfast at the Doney. The food selection and quality of the meals was excellent. Breakfast was served as a buffet. The restaurant is highly recommended!

8/10Great food, lovely atmosphere other than I was put at a table next to the door to the outside and I was the only guest in the restaurant. The staff was going in and out constantly setting up the outside dining area. I would have expected more attentive service because I was the only one eating. I'd still go back for another try to see if this was a one off.

6.5/10The food was good, the Tiramisu was excellent. What was not good especially in a setting such as this is allowing another customer to do a FaceTime call for over 10 minutes with their speaker turned up so that other patrons could hear their conversation. Why the manager didn’t ask them to step outside was beyond me but other patrons were as annoyed with this as I was. It ruined the atmosphere of this dining experience.

10/10On our last night in Rome (total 5 days), we found this elegant restaurant quite by serendipity. Doney’s inside The Westin Hotel. Through glass doors, the large spacious dining area is elegantly modern with mirrors enhancing the floor-to-ceiling glass that opens to lovely patio. You can dine inside or outside. Our group of six sat indoors on a mirrored table with white table cloth strips..The ambiance was complete with soft music. The food was delicious. I had the Scialatielli pasta - “garlic, olive oil and chili” with king prawns. Wonderful! The service was superb with great attention and “patience” with our group’s many questions. Grazie, Julia! Very reasonably priced, we experienced a most enjoyable last supper in Rome!

5.5/10We arrived expecting to be seated in the restaurant. The host questioned us on if we had a The Fork reservation, almost as if this was a different experience. My family and I were seated in the bar area. The servers did their best but the host made us feel very uncomfortable. The food was average if not below average. Made the best of it but would not recommend.

6/10Omar was a brilliant waiter in the bar and was able to help us with all our orders over two nights. The restaurant was however slightly odd if you intend to eat in the evening. The menu seems to lend itself more to a lunch place to eat. It really wasn't clear what was a starter or a main. My past dish was however, delicious. The breakfast was not good at all. We arrived at 8.00am and the food was all cold. My husband left the plate uneaten as he was unable to finish it. On our first day arriving at the hotel, we entered the bar (Omar wasn't working that day), and we tried to order a bottle of wine to drink to share. This seemed to be rather a big deal and we kept being shown "by the glass" or cocktails. Eventually, two other members of staff joined the discussion, and we got our bottle of wine. Thankfully Omar looked after us that evening and the next evening and he gave excellent service!

5.5/10Service was very slow and inattentive. The menu is not very interesting. I had the Buffalo mozzarella with tomato salad and it was flavourless. Would not recommend.

9.5/10Rainy evening so we decided to try Doneys which was connected to our hotel. Pleasantly surprised at the great selection and tastes of all we ordered, fair prices and attentive and pleasant wait staff.
