Regarding service, we felt bad, due to disrespecting customers. After ordering meals, he (owner man/waiter) asked us: “Who will pay these? You know it is very expensive”. With us, the first time is also the last time at this restaurant.

Dining at Dong Fang was a great experience. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food was fantastic, and the server was attentive to all our needs. I honestly think he's the friendliest server I’ve encountered in the city of Lausanne. If you’re looking for a place with good quality food, generous servings, a nice ambiance, and fantastic service, Dong Fang is your place.

We have been coming to this restaurant for Chinese food for many years in Lausanne. We love many dishes on their traditional Chinese menu - a lot authentic dishes from Sichuan and southern China! And the service has always been attentive and friendly! We highly recommend this place for lovers of real Chinese food.

Great service and delicious food. Highly recommend the home made Daoxiao noodles.

I’m from Los Angeles where Asian food reigns. We have some of the best restaurants in the world. So when I decided to try an Asian restaurant in Lausanne I was a bit hesitant. This restaurant can hang with any restaurant in Los Angeles. It was amazing. The handmade noodles with chicken or beef were unreal. The duck was great definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Laussane.

Delicious hotpot and super friendly service. It's just too bad it was really loud as the restaurant had a huge group next to us. Otherwise I would go back again when it's quieter 😀

We were pleased to find this restaurant. It is very convenient to the metro stop, and has an extensive menu. The prices are reasonable when you consider the extremely high cost of restaurants in Switzerland. The waiter/host was particularly pleasant. He was multi-lingual, and explained dishes to us. Although we would not characterize the food as execellent, it is definitely above average. We will return when we return to Lausanne.

I applied 1000 YUM point to deduct 15CHF on The fork app. The restaurant did not allow me to use YUM point to deduct the fee on hotpot. It IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE DESCRIPTION AT ALL! I cannot even get this 1000YUM point back. Very bad experience. Cheating!

The food at this place was DELICIOUS! We are from NYC, and think we know good Chinese food. This place is as good or better than any other Chine food we have eaten!!

Stay away if you are allergic to anything. The menu states that customers can ask the staff about allergens, but this is not true. When we told the waiter that I was allergic to peanuts, he repeatedly assured us that they did not use any nuts in their cooking and there would be no peanuts in any of the food. He even made a joke about it before becoming a bit annoyed at our insistence that this was important. Of course, after all his guarantees, there were still peanuts in my starter dish (pork dumplings) and I had an allergic reaction (luckily I am not deadly allergic, I just get a very bad time). We then had to essentially interrogate the same waiter for several minutes before he finally admitted that they always use peanut oil as a salad dressing for the spoonful of salad included with the starters, and they just didn’t bother to not add it to mine. The waiter then acted very rude and dismissive of the whole thing and even outright stated that I “should not come to these restaurants if it’s such a big deal”. I’ve never had this problem in any Chinese restaurant I’ve been to before, so I have no idea what he meant by that. I hope in the future he will tell allergic people not to eat at his restaurant before they order the food instead of afterwards. I am very disappointed it turned out this way since the restaurant seemed very accommodating when we arrived, and apparently the food was okay for everyone else. I guess their bathroom also seemed decently clean when I went there to puke in their toilet bowl after the above incidence. Still giving them the lowest score though, since their dismissive negligence and uncaring attitude could kill someone more allergic than me.

Very authentic Sichuan food. Home made noodle soup was a highlight. The blood and organ stew was rare to find outside China.

Delicious homemade beef noodles, dumplings and boiled vegetables. Service is amiable and dishes quickly served. Nice atmosphere to bring family, friends or colleagues. Will return soon

Good restaurant proposing a delicious duck. Noodles are good as well, but the understood the main chef was missing, so could be even better. A bit pricy, but recommended.

The staff was very nice. Offered us complementary shake of watermelon. The place is quite spacious and has a good vibe about it. The food was overall nice. But it lacked the wow factor. The fried pork dumpling was good nothing extraordinary. The schezwan duck was a tad salty. We didn’t like the taste of the gravy honestly. But the meat was tender and juicy. I was waiting for the hand pulled noodle made by them. I liked it. Though I must say it was a bit bland to my taste. The dish I liked most was the pan fried prawn fried rice. The jasmine rice used was refreshingly aromatic.
