+11having done our share of Michelin restaurants over the past few years - decided to partake again, however a little disappointed here. Spain has the best the world has to offer - though a little underwhelmed after this experience. The staff were lovely - but not trained to the correct level. Several times we had to ask for drinks, or plates once our dinner was already served. Michelin star deserves better service levels - as does the price. Our turbot was undercooked & could not remove from the bone - so had to send back & 2nd time only just ok. Overall - the price level was ok, but just falling short of requirement for the aspiration. Hardware is in place as the room is lovely - needs a software upgrade & better training.. Steak tartare was good, also the octopus, pigeon, fillet steak & chicken rice - but nothing outstanding.

Well done modern interpretation of classic Asturian cuisine with very nice and attentive service. We don’t eat meat and the restaurant prepared a pescado version of their signature menu. We loved the green tomate & apple gazpacho as well as the essentials of the Asturian stew pot.

10/10I had an amazing lunch today. The food was incredible , the flavour and smells just took over. The house wine was top quality also. And the staff were so attentive but also respectful. It was a memorable experience.

9.5/10The Food is fantastic, as well as the service is!! About the restaurant you have to make sure to sit in the main dining room. We came at 2.30h an there was only a free table left in an adjacent room- we would have been the only guests there- so we decided to have lunch on the porch. Not ideal, but better to sit in an empty room in a restaurant. We certainly will be back!!

5.5/10We have experienced Asturian hospitality and food as great so far but El Retiro was a bit of a deception. Expensive menu without inspiration and rather unfriendly staff. Pity!!

10/10Nice stylish gourmet restaurant. Very friendly staff creates a pleasant atmosphere. Classic dishes enhanced with creative elements, sometimes a daring but all fine. Nice and rich choice of appetizers. Price is rather on International than local level but appropriate for food quality, amount and effort. Special offers available.

6/10Lovely restaurant setting and delightful staff. Just very disappointed with the food. It started well but the chicken dish with rice that was thrown in the middle of the tasting menu was just not appropriate for a tasting menu in a Michelin Starred restaurant. The other dishes were nice but there was nothing exceptional.
