This is by far the best carbonara in Rome! We fly from Barcelona every year to Rome and we always stop at Elle Effe to eat at least one time, no matter what is in the schedule, we always have a moment to spend n this beautiful and delicious restaurant. Tied to first … the people working there, the management, and the food!!! You absolutely need to go!

the food was good but the waiter was kind of rude. he insisted on getting drinks all of the time even though we said we didn't want drinks.

We love this place and had dinner here twice on our week-long trip. Skip the tourist traps on the main piazza, walk just around the corner, and enjoy wonderful food and service here!

Made a reservation for lunch on Christmas Day. Showed up 10 min early - the two women working there told me they had no record of my reservation. I showed them my copy but they didn’t seem to care. I asked if they could please seat us (there were only 3 tables filled in the whole place) and they threw together a table way in back, practically in the kitchen. I asked if we could please sit up front, especially given that we had a reservation but they told me those were all reserved. The owner then came in - I explained to him and he told them to give us one of the tables closer to the front. A huge fight then erupted with the two women screaming at him. My 7 and 9 year old sons asked me what was wrong with them (my kids behave better than that) and I said, you know, you’re right, and we left. Just absolutely disgusting service. But at least I got to teach my kids a lesson about bad behavior.

Really good food! We had pizza, veal and a kick ass salad!

An excellent dinner. Delightful staff, but they forgot to bring a salad we ordered. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our meal.

We picked Elle Effe because it was a bit different from other restaurants in the area and we were looking for more fish / seafood options. Service was attentive and efficient. Food and wine were great. We will put this one on our list to go back to next time we are in Rome.

They didn’t honor the discount as we sat outside rather than inside. As well the pasta was good but not great…carbonara very salty.

we booked via The Fork with 20% discount. when we got there told we had to sit inside or sit outside without the promised discount. We sat outside without the discount and the food and service were really good

We came for my Father’s Birthday dinner and had a wonderful meal and overall experience. The staff were friendly and made us feel special. The food was amazing! It was a beautiful restaurant and not to miss if you are in Rome!

Fabulous small restaurant in the back street of the Centro Storico di Roma. You can dine inside or outside which has heaters. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful giving my wife advice on gluten free dishes. The menu offered many Romano and Sicilian dishes. The ambience was very nice and lively giving us an enjoyable evening. The family on the next table agreed it was excellent. My only observation is your photographs showed tablecloths and the tables were laid out without any. Would I recommend Elle Effe ? ........ definitely !!

Good fresh food, well described and beautifully presented. Waiting staff were charming and knowledgeable. Delicious house wines and really good desserts. Good value and a pleasant experience.

Amazing service - all the servers were very attentive and nice! They were particularly sweet with the kids. The food was also very good, and our family has high standards with ties to Italy. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

We were happy that we were able to book a table at Elle Effe for 6pm, and most other restaurants would not start until 7pm. We liked the service, and the food was very tasty. Also it helps that the restaurant is 2 minutes fron my hotel. We had a good time.

The prices are higher than comparable restaurants nearby and they do not have an inexpensive house wine. Tables close together and not much atmosphere. Food was well cooked and tasty. Service was friendly. The specials did not list prices but were priced much higher than regular menu items.
