The food and the recommended wines were way above average. The atmosphere was good because everyone enjoyed themselves. Prices are not cheap, but this is to ensure quality. After all, why should you be eating cheaper stuff than you would at home?

We are 2 couples from London enjoying the Christmas Markets and Basel. Amazing restaurant. Great food, great wine, great service. We had the cheese fondue and wanted to order a few more sides. The waiter advised us just some fries and pineapple!! Don't order more you will be so full!! He was right. Perfect. Thank you. Stuart, Cathy, Simon and Sue from London UK. Would 100% recommend.

I had the best calves liver I've ever eaten in my life tonight, hands down, and I've eaten it all over the world. The rosti was perfection. Outstanding service, and warm, cozy ambiance. Everything you want to make you feel good on a cold, rainy night. 5 stars. We'll definitely be back!

9.5/10Wonderful introduction to Basel cuisine! Our party of 5 (parents and three tweens/teens were seated promptly and received excellent service. There were some unfamiliar items on the menu which were explained clearly and very helpful recommendations were provided. We shared the generously sized Sommer Salat as a starter. My sometimes-finicky boys devoured their chicken tenders and Wienerschnitzel with enthusiasm, which were freshly prepared and flavourful. The Kalb Cordon was delicious, as was Älpler (rösti with ham, bacon, cheese and fried egg). But for me the highlight was the Zürcher (veal with rösti and mushroom cream sauce). It was comfort food in its finest form! As for desserts, the Basler Läckerli Parfait and the Zitronensorbet were both lovely, but the Emmental Meringues with vanilla ice and whipped cream were the real stars of the evening. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. One of the best dining experiences our family has had this summer!
