8/10The food was great, although not well explained, so we had a few surprises during the meal. That said, we ate everything, it was delicious. Service could have been better. Lots of people standing around, so you would think that a simple request like a refill on water would be straightforward, but it didn’t arrive. I also ordered tiramisu twice, with a 10 minute wait after each and again it didn’t arrive so we just paid and left.

Ordered six dishes in total and every dish was extremely good. It’s slightly different from other other local restaurants because it is quite innovative, the way it cooks and presents. If we are staying for one more day, we will definitely come back for lunch. It is so good. I highly recommend.

6.5/10Room for improvement. The ambiance was lovely but the food was somewhat disappointing. We ordered a filet but no one asked how we would like it cooked. Hence, very rare. Had to send it back to be cooked. Appetizer mostly bread. Small pour on wine.

9.5/10A young team apparently, but everything was fresh and well-prepared. Nice atmosphere on the terrace. Friendly and welcoming staff. A bit difficult to find, but worth the effort. The local wine by the glass was good. The bonus was the reasonable bill!

10/10Excellent food, beautifully presented, extraordinary ambience, and very attentive service. We had the tartare with beets and tempura veggies. (The tempura was greasy but the quality of the oil was wonderful. We shared the orichette with miale (pork) ragu, finished by Era’s version of tiramisu. We’re from San Francisco’s Bay Area and, by comparison, the prices were reasonable.

Nice restaurant near hotel, very good food, good wine at right temperature and excellent deserts. It’s a young team that is starting their project. Doing all right and with quality. The decorations is really nice, a very good atmosphere with comfortable chairs and adequate lights. Congratulations and success !

9/10The food was lovely. Aubergine starter was light, unexpected in some ways, beautiful tomato sauce. We both had the oriechiette with ‘black pig rags, which I have to say was amazing, pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was deep and tasteful. Wine was great, service was good. What’s not to like!

The restaurant is decorated to a stunning level, where the food and staff match. A lovely couple doing an amazing job! We went for lunch and returned for dinner that eve.

10/10Era was an excellent dining experience. The food was creative and delicious and the service was quite incredible. A real gem and we think that Matera is fortunate to have a place like this that is quite different from what is otherwise largely tourist fare.

5.5/10Ambience wonderful, fabulous fillet but disappointing to have to work hard to receive the promised 20% discount. Originally told we’d received the discounted price then we were given an old price menu 🙄 then had to repeatedly show how to work the discount. If only they had accepted they had made a mistake. Young male waiter was lovely though and helped explain to the other 4 that I was correct.
