10/10Celebrating our 34th anniversary. Staff made us feel so welcome. Helped us to choose a nice wine and nice gin. Enjoyed the oysters, fois gras and a lovely paella. A lovely Gem of a restaurant. So glad we found it.

The quality of the food and wine, the service and atmosphere are very good. The only disappointment was the oysters that I ordered as a starter; they were beautifully presented, but very small and warm instead of chilled. I did point this out at the time and expected that they’d be replaced or I’d be offered an alternative. Otherwise, everything else was very good and I’ll definitely be visiting again.

9.5/10We were made to feel welcome and service was excellent. Chef came and asked us if we enjoyed our food and was very happy with our answer. The lamb was the best I’ve had so tender and beautiful presentation. Equally the steak was excellent.

Myself and my wife absolutely loved the whole experience of dining at Etxea. Hugo made us feel at ease and was really helpful and had a great sense of humour. We had the Iberian croquettes which were lovely. We both had steak dishes that were beautifully presented and just perfect. The sweets were amazing as well. The only bad thing was the fact that we didn’t eat there until the end of our holiday. Just first class and we will definitely be returning the next time we visit. 👍😁

Quality of food is good. Exept we did’nt understand the baked onions on two dishes. Balance price and quality is good. The courses where a little too quick. We had the 4 courses tasting menu with the wine pairing. The next wine was served when we did’nt had empty glasses grom the course before. It was a little hasty. 4 courses and outside in the hour. Beside of that is was a nice place and good food.

10/101st time at Etxea. Really great service from engaging staff and food was excellent. The fusion of Portuguese and Spanish cuisine was great, very innovative and very different from the cuisines available elsewhere in the Algarve. My wife thought her duck dish was the best she had tasted anywhere in the world. We also thought the prices were reasonable so excellent value for money. Oh and a great wine list also at reasonable prices. We will definitely be back when next near Carvoeiro.

10/10Absolutely stunning meal, everything was delicious. We had scallops to start, then I had rib eye steak and my husband had beef and prawn skewers. It was excellent steak, cooked beautifully. The staff were fun and attentive.

+1It was sublime, nestled between the little shops and cafes is quite simply a gastronomic experience. We had a tasting menu, wine pairing and cheeky little lobster extra of which all were amazing. They accommodated the fact one of the party didn’t like oysters and switched it for scallops no quibble. The cooking of every course from scallops, steak tartar, Lobster, beef cheek and cheesecake were out of this world. Coupled with that the service is unreal, and the personalised wine choices based on our likes was just brilliant. We will be back again and again

10/10Went to Etxea for our son's birthday and was just excellent. Hugo as our host was first class adding to a thoroughly great evening with an elegant ambience, fantastic food with polished service. A must do excellent resturant if you are in Carvoiero. We have booked again for Saturday. Highly, highly recommended.

9/10Another lovely evening at Etxea. Service was excellent as usual. Hugo wonderful with wine recommendations and the lovely Heather who took our order and served us our food, such a pleasure. Slightly disappointed in my starter of beef tartar, totally different from what I’ve had before. A twist on the original recipe which I love so wouldn’t choose again. Mains of steak and Camembert was absolutely delicious. Wines delicious as always when Hugo chooses them for us. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Look forward to returning next year 💕

7/10This is the second time we've been to Etxea, after a wonderful meal in there for my wife's birthday. We went again last night for my birthday and, whilst the food was superb again, we've never been so rushed in a restaurant before, despite making a reservation. There was hardly any gap between the starter and the main course and we were out of there in just over an hour - WAY too rushed. This restaurant does not have fast food prices, but it felt like fast food service last night and we'll ponder as to whether we will return there. On a positive note, the food was excellent and a great choice of menu.

7.5/10Staff were very welcoming, but unfortunately food left them down. Food was warm, not hot, I had scallops that were tiny, meant to be large, but they looked unappealing, and not seared, which was disappointing.
