I had already been here before with someone else, but I had forgotten about it. I felt like the hostess was arrogant, and she was profiling and purposely treating customers better who looked like they had more money. There was a younger girl, who was I think just starting out and she was nice, but the hostess would talk over her when the younger girl would say what’s in the dish. The food was all cold when it reached the table. The flavour was nice, and they were quality ingredients, but I would say a bit too experimental, and didn’t always fully match. The dessert was lovely though. I’m a bit harsh with the score just because it was fully cold which kind of ruined the experience of the meat that was supposed to be hot. What surprised me the most was when we went to pay and gave a tip, the chef who was next to the hostess asked for a tip after we’ve already given a fair tip. It was uncomfortable an unnecessary. I kind of wanted to take the tip back. The bill was €140, without coupon

Best meal we’ve had in years. We were asked what we didn’t like (oysters in our case) then each dish was explained to us as it was served. Courses included a salmon eclair, veal, great cheeses and melt in the mouth desserts. Each dish as wonderful as the last. We were served different wines with each course and they all matched perfectly. If in this area you must go.

Lovely restaurant where practically everything was perfect. The food and the service were perfect, making us feel like home with a personal touch. We will definitely come back to First. Thank you!

We had a very nice welcome from the owners of this cosy restaurant. There were only a few tables occupied, so it was a bit quiet. But the owners of the restaurant made us feel at home immediately. There is a fixed 4-course menu, but with the different (intermediate) appetizers, there are 6/7 courses. The dishes are very tasteful, well presented and balanced. The cook gave a quick explanation of each dish at the table, which made it a very personal experience. We could really feel the passion for cooking. The value for money for the food is really fair, only the wines are a bit expensive (but nice wine-list). Great experience in this small town close to Utrecht, we will definitely come back.

Fixed menu with exquisite presentation and wonderful taste sensations. Thoroughly enjoyed by all four of us. The only minor negative, which always irks me, is that they would only serve bottled water and tap water was refused.

We were arranged in a very nice and fancy dinning room. The atmosphere is very good. Food is full of surprise and taste good.
