We arrived with only 6 people instead of the 8 that our reservation was for and they were very understanding and said no problem. The staff was very helpful and friendly

The setting, the very friendly, helpful team and the delicious and varied menu featuring very tasty home grown and local produce make this the perfect dining experience either as a group or a couple .

+4A lovely Italian restaurant set in Abbadia Sicille. Old world charm in the converted chiesa with creative and fun décor. Service and food were excellent! We loved the Pizza Fritta and the crazy bread sticks among other things on the menu. A short drive from Cignella where we were staying. Highly reco!

Food was just okay, but mainly overpriced for what was served.

The service would be as expected of a restaurant of this standard however the food fell far below this. The sirloin was three slices of incredibly fatty steak and the ragú was awful- overly ground meat with large chunks of carrot. Some may enjoy this but we didn’t.

This is a very special restaurant and the setting won't disappoint.

Found within the elegant Relais hotel, Fondo is a true hidden gem away from Italy’s major cities. Delicious food, friendly service and a generous wine list. Seek it out for a lovely dinner in a charming setting.

Food quality and setting of the restaurant were excellent, however, my husbands main dish was cold, not warm, but cold. One of us had the lamb and she loved it. Another had the marrow and loved it. The tartare was delish, but we preferred a touch more salt. Would have given this an excellent, but the food temps were all over the place. Quality was superb.

On vacation and choose the restaurant because of proximity to Trequanda. Lovely setting, food was very good but there was only one waiter and with a large group also there at same time, service was slower than expected. The young man who assisted with setup, clean up and deliver of bread and meals was very good!

This was such a charming find and the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. The food was superb and we will definitely be back if we find ourselves in this corner of Italy again.

Out of the way upscale restaurant in a monastery. Takes a bit of a drive but worth it. The home made bread they serve is just off the hook. Also the Pici pasta made fresh each day. Had the Panzanela appetizer and they use perfect farm fresh tomatoes and their home made bread.

Super cozy and unique setting, great service and amazing food. Our best meal in Italy so far! There is also a really cute and friendly cat on the property that will most likely greet you. Definitely visit if you are nearby!

Perfect. Setting, service and food. A very special night!

The restaurant is located in the medieval castle, absolutely fabulous yard, with antique stones, wisteria and fancy lightening. The cuisine is very refined and delicious, with a sophisticated combination of ingredients. Two fantastic women run the Fondo. I highly recommend this place!

Very authentic restaurant, delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly personnel. Menu contains traditional, but as well modern tweaked dishes. We will certainly come back !

Niccolo of De’Ricci wines in monrepulciano recommended Fondo to us and our party of ten loved it. The food was exceptional as was the setting.

I’m very confused about this: why isn’t Fondo spoken about in the same breath as the other great Tuscan restaurants? This was a truly special dining experience, served in the gorgeous outdoor patio of a stylish Tuscan hotel. The food was plated elegantly, every dish presented uniquely. I started with the panzanella and the croutons were perfect, large and soaked in flavor but still retaining its crunch. The tomatoes were a variety I had never had and they were incredibly sweet for late may. Next was the pollo cacciatore style and that was one of the best I’ve ever had. Not soaked in tomato sauce, just beautifully flavored with small olives put in scattered throughout. My friends all had the lamb which was perfectly tender and savory. And to top it off, the dessert was great too. The service was very attentive and she made up for her spotty English and my spotty Italian with a big smile and regular visits to check on us and still managing unhurried Tuscan service. I am immediately putting Fondo on my top 5 list

I had thought of perhaps staying at this establishment as the photos looked fantastic online...however the reviews stated as a hotel, it needed updating. After the sun went down and we approached the repurposed monastery for diner, we thought it was quite inchanting. The restaurant has a creative but very limited menu. Service was non-existent as was any management to guide the novice waitstaff. I do not think we will return.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch eating alfresco in a courtyard of a former historic abbey in the Tuscan countryside. The food was fresh, delicious, well prepared and presented. The service was average. The value for the money was reasonable. Would I return to dine here again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

The setting is amazing, a courtyard in a ‘farm’. The service could be better, long waiting time to receive the menu-card of the day and for the coffee. Beside that, another waitress had no knowledge to open a bottle of wine. We ordered with 4 people the bistecca fiorentine. It was ‘ok’ but for 5euro/100gr you expect more. Summarized, we were disappointed.

Romantic setting in a centuries-old abbey. Approximate service. The meal is intended to be an original culinary experience. For my part, nothing seemed tasty. On the contrary.

Really great find in Tuscany. The building is worth the visit alone. The food is innovative and very tasteful. Only little problem was the wine. I took wine by the glass but the quantity of wine for €7.50 a glass was to small. I am sure they would have got 10 servings from one bottle and the whole bottle was €27 so I felt they were being too economical. Small point but this is how I felt.
