10/10The dishes are so fresh and delicious. The waiter was one of the best we’ve ever had—great recommendations! We felt relaxed and “in the know” for where to be.

7.5/10Very well intentioned and attentive seevice but very short handed. Only one person was doing their best to attend and I believe cook as well.. service was therefore slow but extremely attentive, friendly and with a smile

10/10Magnifico all around. The owner was amazingly gracious, educated, funny and a gifted chef. We learned about origin of dishes. He translated to English for us describing each dish. He was open at 4 pm! We were blessed.

9/10We just loved this restaurant. The chef’s passion for his food and restaurant were joyful. The food was excellent and the vibe of the restaurant and play list were cool. The only part that wasn’t 5 star was that the chef was also the waiter and so, with cooking also, service could be a bit slow. Still- an amazing restaurant

10/10Mateo the Magnficent! Modena is described as a “foodie paradise”. And it is. But the highest level is reserved for Frigieri where Mateo treats all patrons as honored guests. ALL his cuisine, from breadsticks through the dessert selections, are made in-house. And all are delicious. We especially loved the veal cheeks braised in Sangiovese and the baccalaureate served on polenta cakes. Don’t miss this Modena gem!

10/10The most perfect host, the passion for the food and wine is everything you want from being in Italy. No restaurant has made us feel so welcome. It was our 2nd visit and just as good as we remember - we’ll be back again! Also the music / playlist is excellent! Please give this restaurant a try x

10/10Chef Matteo is a wonderful host and an amazing chef. He was attentive and, considering the demands of running a kitchen, spent a great deal of time talking to us about the menu and was very accomodating to our special requests. A delight in every way. We cant wait to return for another meal. ❤️????????

10/10Greeted so friendly and welcoming by the host, Matteo who we soon realized is also the owner, waiter, barrista, bar tender AND chef! The menu is well constructed including many traditional Emilian items but also innovative items, there is definitely something for everyone. Our children had many items to choose from and really enjoyed their food from starters to desert (especialy the home made cookies and meringues!) All the food was prepared fresh under eyes by only two people...Matteo and his co-chef. It is truly an experience never to be forgotten. The pasta we had were handmade and the best by far we had in Italy. By the end of the meal Matteo even took the time to teach our 10 year old son to make a cappuccino with his professional coffee machine!! Thank you Matteo for making our Modena dinner experience so very memorable. We will be back if we are ever so lucky to be in Modena again. Good luck to you, with your passion and hard work you deserve all the success in the world!

10/10Probably the best place in Modena. Food is truly delicious, authentic, home made, using the best ingredients of the region. Every thing is prepared at the last minute so you can request some adaptations of your order if you want too. Matteo the chef/landlord is the nicest person we’ve met for a while. He knows very well his region, its history. He’s also a great teacher of all the details about specialties of the center of gravity of gastronomy of Italy that Modena and Reggio Emiliano region are.
