I had been to this restaurant many times before, and in general I liked it (nothing spectacular about it, but it’s very well located, the food is relatively good and the inside of the restaurant has a nice atmosphere). However, today we had a very bad experience. I booked through the fork yesterday, and less than two hours before the reservation they cancelled, I had not seen the cancellation so we went anyway and they said they had us on the list and that they had tried calling me (they did not). Instead of seating us inside, they put us outside under a narrow and ugly looking tent. They atmosphere was good nothing like indoors. Food took forever to arrive. They sent the wrong salad twice. I ordered a simple pasta with olive oil for my 18 month old and after 45 mins it had not arrived. My poor baby ended up falling asleep without eating lunch. The waiter was nice and very apologetic, but that doesn’t make up for the poor management of our reservation and the mishaps in the kitchen.

Great menu of the day. Lovely garden seating. Pleasurable and quiet dining experience. The pasta alla gricia was especially delicious and the grilled vegetables were flavorful

The location is very nice. The service was good and the food was fresh and delicious. There is a parking area which is practical.

Really nice quiet place out on the Appia - easy safe parking - good prices and surprisingly also very good pizza which i had there for the first time - the place has never disappointed me.

Very good outdoor restaurant off the most special Appia Antica road. Very hospitable, very good food, atmosphere, etc. Delightful and reasonable.

The food was spectacular and the ambiance was even better. Peter was a great host I would dine at Garden Risto 100 more times.
