This is my second visit to Ginnan, this time for lunch. Quiet, cozy atmosphere and excellent service (as in the first visit). About the food, this time I enjoyed it a lot more. The cabbage with Ibérico pork jowl and truffle oil, and the fried oyster were both good starters, though in my opinion they could use a bit more of a flavor kick. The highlight was definitely the grilled squid with onion–cumin sauce and chili oil was outstanding with a great spicy touch. The lamb cap i pota wonton came in a delicious broth with a strong vinegar base that I could just drink in itself. And the Osmanthus ice cream with coconut and fermented rice foam was a great dessert, very unique, I don’t think you can find it anywhere else in Barcelona. Overall, a much better experience than my first visit, with more defined flavors and the same top-notch service.

Service at Ginnan was excellent — attentive, knowledgeable, and the wine recommendation was perfect. The bacon with Chinese alioli was the highlight, but other dishes didn’t land for us. The eggplant, usually a favorite for me, lacked flavor and the má là (麻辣) kick from Sichuan pepper that makes the dish so special. We were eager to discover the Chinese - Mediterranean they advertise but were left a bit disappointed and confused, neither in flavors nor on textures we understood how the concept is imbued in each dish despite the good explanations of our server.
