9.5/10The food was really great. We ended up stuffing ourselves because we didn’t want to miss a bite. Go there hungry. They’ll feed you an excellent meal.

6/10The bread was not fresh , the salad was perfect, the pork Iberian was tasty but hard to cut , the Lamb was ok , the WC was poor , and all the restaurant was crowded and expensive.

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Gosta do Castello! The meal was totally outstanding from start to finish. The wild mushroom risotto was rich, creamy, and deeply flavorful! and the lamb roasted at low temperature in Guinness was incredibly tender, packed with taste, and paired perfectly with smooth mashed potatoes. Every bite felt so special. To finish, we had the pistachio tiramisu and it was so good! Light, nutty, and perfectly balanced. A definitely must try dessert. The restaurant itself is kinda cosy, small, and intimate, with a direct and welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights is that you can actually watch the chef cook right in front of you! it does add so much charm and authenticity to the experience. Totally worth coming over for dinner! Highly recommended.

10/10This is a small authentic restaurant with a limited number of dishes for lunch and dinner. Having said that, from the moment you enter the restaurant, you are fascinated with the atmosphere. The food is amazing. We had the veal, octopus and the risotto. We loved them all, and actually asked for another risotto just to share. To end, we had the cheesecake with berries. Amazing! Thank you, lovely waitress, the chefs and the owner, whom we had the pleasure of meeting when he was helping the waitress.

4/10I went at 15:15 and ordered a meal. My friend ordered a coffee and a cake, post which I ordered a coffee. When asking for the bill, they refused to give us the fork discount stating that my friend did not have a "full meal". We spent more than what would normally cost two meals and overall it was a bad experience. The food however was good, and the ambience was great. The experience was terrible because we paid more than 2x the amounts we were expecting to pay.

10/10Had a lovely lamb meal Wed 15/10. Great atmosphere and you can see the Chef’s preparing your meal within the Restaurant. Very hard working staff - best to book a table as it was a busy place. Would definitely return.

6.5/10The restaurant has a nice and cosy atmosphere , staff are really nice. However, they serve Portuguese dishes that haven’t been traditionally cooked and the quality /price ratio is low. Very expensive for the portions and the food served.

+2Great atmosphere, some of the dishes delicious and worth its price. Exceptionally delicate octopus, smooth and rich risotto. But some other need improvement. Blunt velvet cake, hard and chewy pork, salad made with unripe tomatoes. While three pieces of asparagus with olive oil priced 10€ seem to be a bit of an exaggeration. However the staff was extremely kind, polite and helpful.

Beautiful location but space inside was very small. Tables so close to each other. The food was ok but bland with tiny portions for eye watering prices. Also no options for simple drinks like soda or glasses of wine (can only buy bottles).

8.5/10A surprisingly good restaurant despite all its mixed experiences: an actual Portuguese owner on site, a French-styled kitchen (sans kerchiefs), mostly East Asian service staff, and a menu of Portuguese ingredients made with French-trained precision and techniques. Detailed knife work, Espagnole mother brown sauce, etc. But we’re still laughing at the two grilled spears of asparagus for €10.

10/10The black Iberian pork was delicious and the accompanying vegetables were superb. My husband enjoyed his lamb dinner and as we were leaving told a couple on the sidewalk who were peering in that the restaurant was excellent. The staff was kind and attentive.
