6.5/10This is one of several restaurants inside the marvellous village of Gruyeres. I have been to 5 other in this street. The food is good: the fondue was great, the chicken nuggets (children) were great, the raclette was average. The ambiance is nice. The service is very slow probably because it is understaffed probably on week ends. It is generally slow in Switzerland but that was worse.

6.5/10Great food but terrible, terrible, terrible service. We waited long time, waitress was completely lost. She didn’t know what ingredients are in ordered dishes, then it took some time to explain that we want the whole bottle of wine, not glass. I didn’t get extra ordered egg on my rosti, so she went back to kitchen and brought an egg on separate plate(???). Plate was damaged, and ceramic parts of the plate were in my egg. After complaining to waitress she just said short “sorry”. Nothing else, no any offer to take out this egg from the bill or similar. Restaurant was full, very hot and very noisy. Overall- food quality is superb but everything else, especially service, is terrible. Price - we payed 370chf for 6 persons lunch. We are not coming back to this place. Avoid.

10/10Such a yummy restaurant with incredible views. The classic fondue was to die for, highly recommend. Additionally, the staff was ver accommodating and kind.

9/10Very good food, portions rather big. Choice. Nice atmosphere. Good staff. A really good experience. Located in the middle of the Gruyère Castle area.

2/10The restaurant did not honor the reservation, abruptly telling us that online reservations could not be made so close to the lunch hour. Luckily, Auberge de la Halle was more than accommodating. They were warm and friendly. Excellent service and excellent food!

8.5/10Really nice food and started off well in terms of speed. However, the waitress was rushed off her feet and we were in the restaurant for over 3 hours for our 3 courses so lots of waiting in between courses.

4.5/10Waitress with too many tables to attend. She was never available to order anything additional… I had to go to the kitchen and ask and get things on my own. At the end she was disappointed and upset when I asked the check for the third time…. Never will go back

5.5/10The lady who mostly served us was very nervous and it seemed that we were annoying her. She asked us why we ordered just 2 main dish and 1 salad as we are 2 adults and 2 children. It was not polite as we were not very hungry, just wanted to try famous gryuer fondue.

4/10The location is lovely, and the terrace had a beautiful view. The food was good, but not great. We shared a fondue, which was plenty for two at night, although our waitress was insisted that that size was for one person. The service was non-existent, even though there were only two other tables. It took forever to order and to get food. After we asked for our check twice and waited about 20 minutes, we finally walked towards the door, which instantly produced the bill. We had been there for close to 2 hours and only had 1 course. I know it was the end of the day and everyone was tired. But then don't offer reservations at 8 and 8:30! (We took the 8pm).

9/10Really lovely restaurant (it’s big and a little touristy but we enjoyed it!). Great food (we had the rösti and the macaroni) and wine. Sat by the window and just enjoyed being a tourist :-)

7/10Staff on the main floor not all that attentive. Truly didn't get the feeling that they cared or not that we were there. Forgot to bring us our drinks initially, didn't get the coffee or tea that was included, and ordered. The best part that made it worth it, was the beautiful view and the tasty food. The tip I left was for that reason. The service certainly didn't earn any extras.

6/10Had a reservation for 13:30, arrived on the minute and was seated (table of 4). Only received menus at 14:00 after repeated attempts to attract attention and empty promises from waiters that they’ll be with us shortly. First drinks 45minutes after arrival. Food was tasty when it finally arrived, but honestly service was non-existent. Yes it’s busy, but nothing crazy, serving fondue is hardly a difficult challenge. Organization seems chaotic and a lot of frantic running around by waiters without much happening. We skipped desert and coffees as we desperately wanted to get out before the dinner service started. Need a good bit of training and organization to brings the place up to speed.

7/10Excellent Food but despite the social distancing we were stuck in a corner. Relation Price and Quality is very good. not as expensive as some other similar restaurant on the site.

Due to social distancing, we are obliged to add space between the tables and this is why we cannot ensure that all tables are facing the windows or placed in ideal dispositions. 10/10the staff was perfect and we felt like they were expecting us even if there were quite a lot of people. the service was really quick ! we recommand the rösti, tthe fondue and the meringues with the double cream and fruits yummy !!
