9/10Excellent music and very good food in an atmospheric setting. But it took a very long time to get out because their credit card machine didn’t work well. Probably best to bring cash.

8.5/10Great fado restaurant. You get local Portuguese food with breaks for fado music. Service is timed with the musical breaks so can feel slow, but it’s worth being patient. Good Portuguese wine is also available.

8/10Since the focus is on the fado, they wait untill all guest arrives and then they will start to serve the ordered food, so you need to be patient. Last night we had a very good young girl singing with passion and talent. Guitarrist guys accompannymg where very professional and not one mistake. The manager is also singing , giving a good performance of male singing fado; he also involve the public to simg with him! Food is ok but I had better meals in other places im portugal. However a nice evening, good atmosphere and good ratio quality/ price.

5.5/10This restaurant is cute and is run with love and passion but service is slow and food is basic. The owners are lovely and you are treated like family. I really wish I could rate this higher but I hope they hire a proper server. We enjoyed the Fado, it was small and intimate

7.5/10Good fado music and ok food. Could order off the a la carte menu which was preferable to most Fado club set menus.

6.5/10Meal not tasty at all, very salty. Atmosphere was very good before girl fado singer left the restaurant and she was stepped with the owner - very open and friendly person but not a fado singer..

10/10Main reason was to visit the Fado performances, which were amazing! Since it is the off season in Lisbon, the restaurant was relatively empty, only one other table was occupied. But the Fado performances still happened and were entertaining.

7/10Traditional Portuguese restaurant to eat and listen to fado. There are different singers throughout the night! Food was correct but nothing super special (66€ two people).

6/10This was definitely a unique evening! Guitarras de Lisboa is tucked away on a side street in a quieter part of the city -- we had a little trouble getting there with our rideshare, but eventually we made it! The food was alright -- the mushrooms a bit soggy, the fish a bit dry -- and the service was interrupted, because the servers are also the performers for the evening! But where it maybe lacked in polish, the night shone with passion as it was a small team working to put together something clearly very special to them!

3.5/10Very slow service timed to the fado. Took 2 hours to get mains. I honestly would not recommend going here for fado. Find something else that won't trap you

9.5/10The ambiance was incredible, groin vaulted brick ceiling, delicately lit. The food was good, albeit similar menu to the rest Alfama (bachalau heavy), nice wine list great menu and wine advice. The focus is heavy on the Fado performance, but it was done in 3ish song intervals.

6/10Our experience here was really mixed. Was the food good? Yes. Were we able to hear fado music? Yes. But... we felt like we were eating dinner in a library in between the 3 five-minute music sets that we heard over the course of a 2+ hour dinner. It was so strange. It was a Monday night, so we knew it would be quiet. But the entire evening it was just us and one other couple at another table. There was no background music playing, so it was uncomfortably quiet, and it lacked any kind of ambience at all. It was all so odd, to be honest. I felt like we were inconveniencing the restaurant by being there.

9.5/10This restaurant, hidden away in a side street, was a great find. The home cooked food was superb with the added attraction of traditional Portuguese Fado music even though our visit was on a quiet Monday night with only a few diners. I think the ambience would have been wonderful on a busy night later in the week.

10/10This is a wonderful find, a bit hidden off the beaten path but so worth the effort. The owner and staff are absolutely lovely people. It really feels like being welcomed into a living room for an intimate dinner with friends and family.

4.5/10This restaurant was a big disappointment for us. We had to wait 90 min for the food, there were only 1 (!) person served us, who seemed to me the owner of the restaurant. He served, organized, sang the fado as well. The interior of the place is nice, the fish food was good, but cold a bit. The musicians played 15 minutes and leaved the place for a 30 minutes breake.

Guitarras de Lisboa • Owner
Dear cusromer, we are really sorry that we didn't meet your High expectations. Throghout the meal you were asked several times if everything was OK, and you seemed to have no remarks to make, not even about the food, which you said was fine. So, it is strange that only when you got the bill everything became horrible. Being aware that some foreign costumers don't appreciate salted codfish we even agreed not to charge it, even though it was perfectly fine. Apart from that, one cannot ignore that this is a restaurant with live fado performances and prices are a little higher, but everything is lisred and costumers have plenty of time to decide what to have according to their budge. Being aware that we cannot please everyone, we are grateful for the dozens of comments that contradict your opinion. Nevertheless, we too regret...

3.5/10The atmosphere and live music were great. The food - apart from the prawn starter - was a disappointment, grilled cod was so salty you couldn’t eat more than a mouthful, and super overpriced ie 18 - 22.5 € for a main that didn’t even come with sides! Staff- very strange, one of the guys was staring at us half of the time, and the other charged me 4€ for a 33cl bottle of water?! When I asked why the price - he said he ran out of the 50cl bottles. On top of all of this, they charged us cover, taking us to 86€ for two mains, a starter, a small bottle of beer and a small glass of wine! Not recommended

8.5/10The Fado and atmosphere were excellent. The food was decent but not spectacular. The only slight downfall was we were told the show would commence at 21:00 but it only started at 22:00. Very great experience though!
