We accidentally joined a local crowd and had the pleasure of experiencing an amazing fado night right next to the stage. The staff’s friendliness and attentiveness, the delicious food, and most importantly, the incredible talent of the fado artists left us very satisfied. Moreover, the fact that they didn’t charge extra for the event, unlike other fado venues, is a huge advantage. If we ever visit Lisbon again, we would choose the same place to

Real Portuguese restaurant in Lisboa. I really appreciate that it’s not just a place for tourists, it’s a place to experience real Lisbon. Food was good and fresh, music was lovely.

The service was so close and familiar, that you feel at home! Hearing fado in such a cozy space was one of my the best experiences I’ve had in Lisbon. The food is good and tastes like home made. Not elevated, but good tasting. On and all is a nice bet if you’re looking for a good balance between a nice fado night and good Portuguese food.

This restaurant is beautiful . The food was just ok. They are woefully understaffed in the dining room. We sat for long periods of time with empty glasses and plates in front of us with no one to ask for more drinks or the bill . The music was ok. Not our best fado experience. We chose this place based on the reviews but it didn’t deliver.

We were a group of 9. Arrived at 21h00 and got the main dishes at 23h00. By then the restaurant was almost empty. It was us and just another couple. Between starters and main course we waited ages. Way to much. Several dishes on the menu were sold out. Worse, when finally the dishes arrived one of the requests was wrong. No adjustment was done on our bill. Starters were much better then main dishes. 25€, for two plates of pasteis de bacalhau!!! The positive was the singing lady. Beautiful voice and emocional singing. It's really a petty food management is so week. Will not be visiting again.

I arrived at my scheduled reservation, 8pm. I was seated promptly, the decor of the restaurant is pleasant. Fast forward, the Fado performance did not begin until nearly 9:30. After 2 hours of waiting for food, I received 1 of 4 courses I had ordered and that was after canceling the bread service thinking that by the time my main courses had arrived I wouldn’t want the bread anyway. At the two hour mark, after just receiving 2 glasses of wine, a bottle of water, one appetizer, and seeing a brief performance, I conveyed as much to the waiter and promptly asked for the check. His response, the food was coming, my retort, I needed to salvage the evening elsewhere. That’s when I was informed, the gratuity had already been included in the bill…Buyer beware of this restaurant, Alfama, Fado, and quite possibly Lisbon in general.

Really nice fado show. It was a bit empty, just us and two other couples but the performers were still great. The food was good, and the prices were not too high. I'd come back.

Excellent music and very good food in an atmospheric setting. But it took a very long time to get out because their credit card machine didn’t work well. Probably best to bring cash.

Great fado restaurant. You get local Portuguese food with breaks for fado music. Service is timed with the musical breaks so can feel slow, but it’s worth being patient. Good Portuguese wine is also available.

Since the focus is on the fado, they wait untill all guest arrives and then they will start to serve the ordered food, so you need to be patient. Last night we had a very good young girl singing with passion and talent. Guitarrist guys accompannymg where very professional and not one mistake. The manager is also singing , giving a good performance of male singing fado; he also involve the public to simg with him! Food is ok but I had better meals in other places im portugal. However a nice evening, good atmosphere and good ratio quality/ price.

This restaurant is cute and is run with love and passion but service is slow and food is basic. The owners are lovely and you are treated like family. I really wish I could rate this higher but I hope they hire a proper server. We enjoyed the Fado, it was small and intimate

Nice authentic place in a not very touristic area . Everyone was very polite , food really fresh and good and fado musicians exceptional too . A highly recommended restaurant with friendly people and prices

Meal not tasty at all, very salty. Atmosphere was very good before girl fado singer left the restaurant and she was stepped with the owner - very open and friendly person but not a fado singer..

Main reason was to visit the Fado performances, which were amazing! Since it is the off season in Lisbon, the restaurant was relatively empty, only one other table was occupied. But the Fado performances still happened and were entertaining.
