If you are looking for Japanese cuisine in Firenze, I highly recommend Hoseki. The staff was friendly, accommodating and quick to serve. The food was amazing and we had a beautiful meal.

Nice ambiance and friendly service. The food was not authentic Japanese. Composition and flavors were off. Gold leaf on sushi was just silly.

While the food was good overall, I expected more from a high-end establishment like Hoseki. Unfortunately, one of the dishes — the bignè flambé — was served with an open flame and coarse salt underneath. During the presentation, one of the salt grains exploded twice, causing a small burn on my girlfriend’s chest. Thankfully, it wasn’t serious, but it was frightening, and we couldn’t extinguish the fire ourselves. The staff had to take the dish away, yet surprisingly, no one apologized or even acknowledged what happened. Additionally, while we were eating, the waitress was using the empty table behind us as a service station to prepare dishes for other guests. This created unnecessary noise and disrupted the atmosphere, which was very disappointing in a setting where you expect attention to detail and professionalism. Given these issues, we won’t be returning.

We ordered 7 different rolls and they were all delicious! Portions were good and food was extremely fresh. The service was quick and attentive. I would definitely go back.

I got a reservation for 7pm as I was dining alone. The restaurant interior was beautiful, the staff were very kind and communicated brilliantly in English (as well as tolerated my broken Italian). Food was delicious and brought out quickly and the price was extremely reasonable! I enjoyed it so much that I considered going back another night.
