We felt very welcome and were warmly served, food was very good and prices reasonable. It was lovely to eat outside on the terrace.

Great lunch at Hostaria San Carlino with a colleague. We started with a tartare and a classic tigelle platter with mortadella, Modenese pesto, and squacquerone: simple, authentic, and full of flavor. For the mains, we chose balanzoni filled with ricotta and mortadella and fettuccine with livers, both perfectly executed and deeply rooted in tradition. A true taste of Bologna in a warm, no-frills osteria atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Very traditional well prepared dishes all around as expected. We were served a surprise small bite before the meal. A cold roasted tomato topped with an herb breadcrumb mixture that was uneventful and could’ve done without. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered a bottle of wine. The style was correct but the wine was a different vintage and producer. We weren’t offered an explanation or another option. It was assumed it would be fine and it was. But that isn’t proper. The ambiance left a lot to be desired. We had made a reservation yet we escorted to the basement which has a very different vibe than the rest of the restaurant. It was uncomfortably bright, and the decor was sparse. If we return we will request to be seated in the upstairs areas.

Great food and service . We had tortellini in brodo, steak chianini a couple of sides and a bottle of Lambrusco.

Favourite meal in Bologna, would have returned if I had more time. Had the crostino entree followed by tagliatelle with orange and prosciutto - both excellent and would order again. Friendly service as a solo diner. The provided bread was fresh, Highly recommend

Small restaurant off the beaten path but well worth the search. The menu had many options. We enjoyed fried zucchini blossoms, tagliatelle and pasta with ham and orange. Service was good too.

The ravioli was absolutely delicious and the lasagna was one of the best. Both are memorable dishes that we came back to order them again the next night. The interior is cozy and the service was great! Highly recommend this restaurant and we'll come back the next time we're in Bologna. Thank you TripAdvisor for the recommendation.

The tortellini in broth was delicious - I could have easily eaten two bowls. Also the semifreddo with passion fruit was “icing on the cake”!

This has been our favorite meal so far for our trip in Italy! Food was delicious! We ordered the tortellini in broth, pumpkin ravioli, and tagliatelle ragù for entrees. We also ordered the chocolate cake and flan for dessert. The restaurant has a fantastic local feel, fantastic food, and an extensive wine list.

The restaurant offers good food with matching service. The small room we sat in could have been more intimate with one less table. The online only menu is a bit of an over reach and exhibits glitches making it hard to maneuver. Frankly, there is nothing here that was bad but we expected just a little more for the price.
