Food was quite good, but... more than 30 minutes waiting to place our order was honestly too much in such a first class restaurant. And the mistake in serving the fish submerged in the sauce, when it has been clearly requested to put eventually the sauce on the side, was honestly unacceptable.

We went for Saturday dinner and were never shown any menu — neither for drinks nor for food — reflecting a clear lack of transparency. What first seemed like warm smiles and old-France charm soon revealed itself as a calculated way to take advantage of guests. The evening started with a “suggestion” for an aperitif in the cellar: one glass of white wine, one sparkling wine, and small snacks (cheese cubes and olives) — €20 per person, without any price shown. While still there, the chef asked if we wanted fish or meat, again with no menu. We chose seabass and lobster soup; both decent but unremarkable. The bill showed €45pp for the seabass and €30pp for the soup — high for what was served. Thanks to TheFork’s 50% discount, the food became reasonably priced, but €65 for 2 aperitifs, 1 cava, and 1 bottle of water remained excessive. Next time, I’ll happily go elsewhere for the same price, without a TheFork “discount” and without the feeling of being taken advantage of.

Best place for long dinner in atmosphere vine cellar, the level service was absolutely immersive! We had an amazing birthday dinner there and definitely will come back once. If you seek for a great food experience, not just a dinner it would be the best choice in Antwerpen!

This restaurant reminded me of fine dining in France 30 years ago. The restaurant was quite beautiful, as were the plates, glasses and cutlery. The staff were attentive but also unobtrusive but still friendly. The Chef proposed a menu and we made our choices. The food was very good and well balanced. The wines were all a reasonable price. Until we received the bill we had no idea of the cost ( other than the cost of the wine), but it was well within what we expected. Would I come here again, most certainly yes.

This is definitely gonna be our new dating restaurant in antwerp! First the interior is a WOW! Felt like stepping into a centuries ago house, very classy and with a lot of nice touches. Then the gentleman showed us to the basement via kitchen which was also very impressive, we had aperitif and champagne at the wine cellar. We enjoyed it so much, just the vibes was absolutely awesome! Then chef Patrick approached us to check what would we want for dinner, we told him we would love fish and meat. Only 2 courses we have requested. Then! The magic happened, started with a very very delicious fish soup, simply fresh and a lot of different ingredients inside. After that they presented our main course which was FILLET MIGNON with vegetables. The source and the dish absolutely matches super well! We basically finished EVERYTHING. We also had a glass of white with the fish and a red with the beef. The evening was just simply perfect! Thanks for the whole team and chef Patrick miracle cook! =)

I am used to eat in Michelin star restaurants, and this place deserves one. I accidentally found this restaurant via the app ‘The Fork’, because all top restaurants in Antwerp were fully booked on Saturday evening. Wonderful ambiance in the grand dining room at the back (I do not think Antwerp has anything similar) and excellent food prepared by the chef himself. The staff went out of its way to provide good customer service. The wine cellar downstairs, where we had our aperitif is exceptional. I hope to be back soon.

Absolutely delightful especially with the aperitif in the wine cellar. The food was delicious and the service was personable and pleasant. However, it would be good if the waiters asked their customers if the have any allergies as I was served some walnuts with the goose liver pate and I am allergic to walnuts so I gave them to my partner. The main course which I ordered was codfish and it was perfectly cooked. The place has an extensive and superb wine selection to choose from! I will definitely be visiting again!

Great food. Classical cooking. Attentive service and a complete meal. The only regret was that there was no one else in the restaurant. We had a great quiet business meal.

We were shown to the cellar where people were drinking and asked for our drink order. No list presented. We don't normally drink aperitifs and were caught off guard, but ordered something anyway. We were brought parmesan and olives (nice) and then an amuse bouche of shrimp, tomato and a dressing - pleasant but not exceptional. Then the waiter came. He didn't show us a menu but had a friendly discussion with us about what we liked to eat. It was an unusual approach and we just went along with it, but on reflection we felt we were manipulated into ordering what the kitchen wanted us to eat. The fish soup was very good, though I didn't detect the lobster that had been mentioned in the cellar discussion, unless the shells had formed the basis for the stock. One of us had fillet steak (very good) and the other had sweetbreads (also very good) but the vegetable accompaniment was a smear of potato puree and 5 tiny pieces of very ordinary everyday vegetables. Although they were well treated (al dente) it was rather unimaginative and uninteresting. We would go again, but would ask to go straight to our table and see a menu. Friendly service and beautiful and elegant surroundings.

My wife and I went to celebrate a special occasion and we were gladly surprised by this restaurant. The chef greet us at the front door, showed the restaurant, the kitchen, and everything was so clean and shiny. And took us to visit the wine cellar and it was a fantastic experience. There we had a glass of champagne and there the chef told us about the menu and we decided there what we were going to eat afterwards in a table at the restaurant. The silverware, the china tableware, the glasses, everything was perfect. The ambiance very elegant in a "belle epoque" style. The food was incredible, freshly cooked and very tasty. The owner and his wife were so nice and friendly. They deserve the highest rating. I strongly recommend this place. Attached to the restaurant, there is a Hotel with 4 suites, fully equipped for short or long stay. The Hotel also fantastic!!

Great atmosphere, loved the wine cellar for the aperitif. Food was expensive (we paid over 100 euro each incl wine), maybe a bit too expensive for what it was. High quality home style Flemish cooking, not fancy Michelin star food. Bonus points for the dining room, building, wine cellar. Staff was professional and friendly. In the end it was the experience that made our evening, not the food. The starter with crab and raw herring was the best dish.

We came to the restaurant to celebrate the New year and the dinner was exquisite! Each plate was accompanied with a special vine, which was very good. All the dishes were very delicious, the personnel was very attentive and polite. We spent an amazing evening. Thank you for the atmosphere

Truly unique experience with decent food. However, for the high price we paid, we expected the food to be more special than was the case.

The ambience in the wine chamber was wonderful, and the staff was friendly (esp. the chef). However, the food was disappointing, it was quite bland and ordinary. For example, the side for the main dish was just some cooked broccoli and mashed potatoes. Above all, the price of the oysters was excorbitant. They were stuffed with pieces of shell, being served on tin foil while being quite average in taste.

The quality of food was below average. The lobster tasted like microwaved. The ray ailron was obviously overcooked. The service was extremely slow. 70€ for one ray ailron too expensive as the peice are not announced by the chef. This was the worst experience I had in a restaurant in Antwerp.

The best days of this Restaurant must have been over. The towels on the toilett look like in use Since 20 Years, the Golden frames on the plates are washed away and the vegetarian food that we ordered was a wild mix of overcoocked vegetables with rice, goat cheese, Olive and scrambled eggs with truffle. So many tastes and too much of everything. The Service was okay, but the cook who we where Talking to about our „menue“ could believe that we where not amused. In between no one took care about our coats after we went for a smoke Outsider on the not very glanourous and trashy parking spot. For the price it wasnt worth to go there.

Huis de Colvenier is a traditional fine dining establishment. The cellars double as a storage as well as aperetivos and is worth a visit in its own right. Patrick - proprietor and head chef - came to our table to discuss our dining wants. He was genuinely interested and interesting. We chose a 5 course menu degustation and the food was excellent. Well presented, good portion size and using seasonal ingredients. The dining room downstairs is in the grand style and in keeping with the food.
