Overall good Italian restaurant. We enjoyed the wine selection. There wasn’t much of cliff view though for dinner if that’s what you’re looking v for, as dinner is inside and not in the terrace.

As it happened, we arrived too early, even before the official opening time. But they were still very welcoming and allowed us to wait inside at the table and showed us the menu. We chose the Mushroom Bruschetta as the couvert. This was juicily refreshing, contrasting well with the crispy toasted bread. For main course we chose the Mushroom Risotto with shredded Smoked Duck Breast and white truffle. Fantastic flavour and very warming and satisfying as the evenings were beginning to chill as Winter approaches. Unfortunately, the Portobay Falesia is closing now for the Winter and a refit. But no doubt will return even better.

The restaurant was very full and so service was slow and mistakes were being made. They even chased after us wanting us to sign the bill which had already been signed.

The food is like i'm in Italy, it's fantastic. The service especially Ana Rita is just perfect and very friendly. We were very content and happy.

The service was very good and the people working there were very nice. We had some live music playing which imbedded the ambiente a lot. The view on the water was good but the lighting and flora made it complete. We had some tasteful raviolis and tortellinis which were placed very elegant. All in all it was a pleasant dinner. Would recommend for a date!

I am always in awe at f the top service and amazing food as well as the inviting ambiance with live music. Once again, great experience.

As Vegetarians, 'Il Basilico' offers more on the menu that we can actually eat ! Italian themed restaurant, so most people should be able to find something on the menu !

The food was very good except that the Calamari was too chewy and my wife couldn’t eat it. My Veal dish was excellent. The waitress asked my wife if there was something wrong with her meal as the Calamari hadn’t been eaten and she gave an honest appraisal also pointing out that the Prawn element of the dish was excellent. The waitress brought the Manager over and she was VERY apologetic, offering another dish but my wife declined and assured her that she had still enjoyed the evening. When our bill came the Calamari dish was not charged for. We were both very impressed with the attitude. Sometimes you have to accept that things can go wrong and it is how you deal with problems that really matters. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant again.

High quality, fresh, hand made pastas. Beautiful setting. Well paced service. Just a 10-15 min walk for those staying at the Pine Cliffs.

We had a great experience at Il Basilico Algarve. Having eaten at I'll Basilico Funchal we had to try Algarve also and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent and staff friendly. The experience lived up to our expectations.

It was nice to sit outside by the pool. The ravioli were amazing, the spinach cannelloni very good and the mushroom bruschetta is a recommendation too. Service was ok. Friendly but since I don’t know anything about Portugese wines I would have liked someone to help me with that.

Fabulous bistro-style Italian restaurant in a beautiful setting. Great ambiance, amazing food, attentive staff, and not expensive at all. What's not to love?

We ate here as it’s ska tradition for us to eat at Basílico on our first night of holiday at a Porto Bay place. Staff were perfectly friendly and pleasant, food good and reliable, atmosphere very empty and cold- completely to do with the season and the weather.

The staff were great and food was excellent. Fantastic saxophone player on a Saturday night. Highly recommended. Shame they don’t publicise to hotel gusted when live music is playing.

Lovely restaurant but lacks atmosphere in the evening due to poor light. Best in the nice long summer evenings I expect but as it’s open all year they should consider changing the lighting for the darker evenings as it’s too harsh as it is. Food was good and service was friendly and efficient. Would return.
