6.5/10We arrived just before 8.00 pm (which is when we booked for) and there was clearly no table reserved for us nor any acknowledgment of that. We stood with another couple (who didn’t have a booking) in the narrow gangway at the front of the restaurant not knowing whether they would have a table for us or not. I fully understand that they are Italian and we are English but there was no attempt to give us any assurance that there would be a table available. This wasn’t helped when someone arrived without a booking and was immediately shown to a table outside. After around 10 to 15 minutes some people left and we were shown to a table. I won’t go on but the service was slow. I ordered a bottle of wine which didn’t arrive and we weren’t offered dessert and probably would have ordered one. That’s an additional €40 they could have earned. Don’t get me wrong the food was excellent and compliments to the chef but the waiting staff were poor and simply didn’t communicate with us throughout.

10/10This was, by far, our best experience at a restaurant on our 10-day Italy trip. It is not the grandest, nor does it have the best view, but if you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience that is NOT a tourist trap, Il Basilico is the place. The food, service, and prices were the best that we’ve seen in any city. We ordered the carbonara pasta, Florentine steak, and pizza. We’d rate both the carbonara and pizza as the best we’ve eaten, and it was our only steak. Again, this is with very low prices even before they honored 20%-off for booking through The Fork. We were fortunate to have a server named Stil. He was the nicest personality we have ever met at a restaurant in our 29-years of existence. He can become your friend in 5 different languages. Unfortunately, if you are reading this over 1 year from now, I’m sure the Italian government will have built his statue in the Duomo and gifted him an early retirement villa in Tuscany by now. Highly recommend!

10/10I would highly recommend this restaurant! It was a little hard to find but definitely worth it! The ravioli with barata cheese & red sauce were excellent as well as the linguine with clams. We would highly recommend this restaurant!

9.5/10We booked lunch on the fork and the 30% discount was honored. We were very happy with the food! The gentlemen who worked there were very kind. Would highly recommend! Important to note, many places that say they are “air conditioned,” are not air conditioned to a comfortable level. This restaurant did not feel air conditioned, but that was our experience everywhere we went to eat. Adjust your expectations ahead of time and you won’t be disappointed while visiting in the summer months.

10/10Fabulous food, the best of our 3-night stay in Florence. Service was 100% excellent and we benefited from a Fork timed discount too. The Florentine steak was cooked perfectly. Our waiter was super friendly but knew when to leave us alone too. I can’t praise this restaurant highly enough, it was superb. And the drinks prices are the cheapest around. Thank you!

10/10Octopus and meat ragu were excellent. We came back here for the last dinner because this place was the best one. The service is also outsranding. All the guys were very kind. Nice people, very good food!

7/10They honored our reservation even though we were a little late. My shrimp pasta did not have whole shrimps like I expected. Instead the chef cut up tiny pieces of shrimp and put it in the sauce. For the price of the dish, I don't think I got the equivalent of 1 shrimp.

10/10My wife and I had a fantastic meal at II Basilico. It was a 2nd time visiting in a week and the food, Florentine Steak to share along with a mountain of bread oil and balsamic vinegar was fantastic. The service was fantastic and everything was perfect with the staff so welcoming and attentive from start to finish. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. As a bonus booking through The Fork app gave a great 30% discount

9.5/10We sat in the back away from the street where it was quiet and private. Our waiter, Rico, was great! He would notice when we needed sonething and get it immediately. My husband and I are vegetarians. We split a salad to start and it was very fresh! I had ravioli filled with fresh ricotta and a delicious sauce made from pears with burrata cheese and crispy leeks on top. (It may sound strange, but it was delicious!) My husband had a pizza that was also delicious!

10/10Our second visit in a 4 night holiday in Florence so that says it all! Blown away after our first visit with the food, the red wine, the service and ambiance and the cost. Our second visit didn’t disappoint we received the same high quality we had on our previous visit, the staff are so good. Will be at the top of the list for any return visits to Florence.

9/10Second time to this restaurant & again food & serving size great. It is a small restaurant so surroundings OK but service, meal quality - size & taste - make up for the ambiance. Prices very good for quality. This evening, we had lamb chops & osso bucca - both great.

9/10Great find for quality of food, service & price. We chose to sit outside which was a mistake on our part as tables line a very busy street - yes, there is a sight barrier but noise was loud with big buses & cars going by. By happen chance, we had a light lunch at this restaurant but sat inside - a totally different experience. Quality of food & service same for both meals. Dinner meals were duck breast and ossa bucca - both great. Added a side of roasted potatoes which were also great. And, the free lemonchello after dinner was a nice untouched.. We will be back.

10/10We based our booking on the good reviews for this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. The food was very good, though portions too large for us to make use of the different courses. We just had a starter and a Portata principale and were full. Fortunately the waiter advised us to share the BRUSCHETTA. But what we had was excellent.
