Absolutely fantastic staff, made an off the menu item for my wife which was so kind and amazing. Fantastic food and wine selection, cannot recommend this place enough! Best dinner we had in Florence! We will be back again!

We found this gem of an Osteria just around our hotel and it was lovely. we had our dog with us and they not only accepted us but gave us a good table. the staff were lovely and the food was delicious. will come back before this trip ends!

My wife’s lamb was perfectively cooked….pink. My Veal was outstanding, it was actually a veal chop & cooked to perfection….a nice bottle of vine at a competitive & realistic price….staff were professional & friendly. From where I was seated I could see the chef working very hard….no tantrums, no shouting, knew his job and got on with it. BOOK THIS RESTAURANT, you will not be disappointed .

Food was good. Ambiance was a bit lower scale than expected, very touristy (giant pixelated image of duomo on wall). Brucceta was ok. Pizza (buffalo mozzarella and cotto ham was good. Ragu was tasty, similar to others we have had, pasta cooked well, meat sauce rich and flavorful.

I decided to try this restaurant based on reviews. The staff were very helpful, the setting was comfortable enough. For those who have not experienced Nonna's authentic cooking, I can understand why reviewers would say that the food was excellent. For me, it was good, not outstanding. I started with porcini mushrooms and polenta. It was ok. The salmon was also ok. The cantucci and Vin Santo was typical. The prices are similar to other restaurants. I can appreciate that food reviews are very subjective and based on an individual's particular preferences. That being said, my il Basilico was ok.

This was our best dining experience during our Florence vacation. Our server, Stil, was exceptional. They were able to accommodate a gluten allergy. The food was absolutely incredible. Just an overall fantastic night at Il Basilico.
