Not sure they should have opened this season yet. There were building works going on, on the top tier. We drove from distance to get there and they were a bit thrown by us arriving early. The restaurant was in a large ground level arched room that was freezing. We were the only patrons, so the idea of potential private dining sounds great but my wife had to keep her coat on throughout. Although their playlist was good, the ambiance was poor in those circumstances. The food was incredibly variable. The risotto and arancini were superb, The cod incredibly dry and tough, and the pasta tasted a bit too al dente (being undercooked and hard in parts). For a Michelin restaurant this was very disappointing, the bill left one feeling overcharged for what was delivered. On the plus side, the waitress was lovely, which made up for the poor front of house reception. Overall, hoped for more, and although we booked days in advance, I felt they were not really ready for us this season.

Just had an amazing dinner at Il Bavaglino with the “Mura di Casa” tasting menu and everything was absolutely delicious, super fresh ingredients and perfect Sicilian flavors mixed with an overwhelming creativity. The chef Costa is a real talent, every dish was spot on. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, they made us feel like family and took great care of us the whole evening. Special thanks to the team for the warm hospitality! Great atmosphere, fantastic food, and the price is more than fair for this quality. Easily one of the best meals we had in Sicily. Highly recommend! ✨️ I would like to highlight on the generosity of the chef and the restaurant itself with various "tasty treats".
