Unfortunately, the food was below mediocre at best. Both the octopus and the veal were cooked more than well done. The flavor of all the dishes were also underwhelming which made us question why we were eating at Il Cairoli. The background music was also not acceptable, suitable more to a disco than a restaurant. The only good thing was probably the friendly service which was not enough to ease the pain the food was causing. I am very surprised that a restaurant like this could be on any list by Michelin

It's a hotel restaurant with a very impersonal ambiance. The food is ok, but not great. The only good thing is the very attentive service. This restaurant should never be in the Michelin guide.

Uncertain why Michelin recommended this place. Good food, but no better than hundreds of other restaurants in Milan. Relatively sterile atmosphere compared with so many other traditional places. I wouldn't go back.

The staff and quality of food served were exceptional. We had authentic Italian pizza which was served to our liking, we were able to order our favourite cocktails that were not on the drinks menu (Long Island iced teas), and the fish pasta dish was a delight to savour. The food was Michelin standard as extend the value for money was also excellent.

Il Cairoli Bar & Restaurant is a Michelin-recommended restaurant that made our honeymoon dinner truly special. The service was efficient, polished, and thoughtful, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the moment together. Every detail felt well taken care of without ever being intrusive. We chose classic Milanese dishes — Osso Buco with Risotto alla Milanese and Cotoletta alla Milanese — and both were beautifully prepared. The flavors were authentic and comforting, yet refined, making the experience both memorable and meaningful. A wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion while experiencing the elegance of traditional Milanese cuisine. Highly recommended.

Excellent service, ambience and food. The perfect spot to have a real traditional Milanese Xmassy Sunday Lunch in the Centre of the City. 100% recommended and will deginitely go back.

Really elegant restaurant in a hotel. The service was superb and the local Milanese dishes were delicious. I had the cotoletta alla Milanese and it was very delicious and tender. A person in our group was not as pleased with the entree, the restaurant had run out of the fish entree for that evening, and her option was a seafood pasta. For dessert we opted for traditional pannetone with a mascarpone cream

Not only the atmosphere, but also the taste, quantity, price, and the owner were so kind that it was nice. 😀😀 I recommend it to Koreans! It's the best restaurant I've ever been to in Italy for 10 days. 👍👍👍 Since you said you're a Korean, you showed me your Netflix viewing list. lol I paid less than 100 euros for Kotolleta, Osobuko risotto, and a bottle of wine. 💕 The entrance is the entrance to the hotel, so you have to turn a little inward from the main street!

+2We visited Milan for 7 days and found this restaurant from The Fork. The food is amazing. The taste and presentation of dishes are the best I tried in Milan. The environment is very comfortable and the service is very nice. Highly recommended.

Horrible service. We order a Sprite and a glass of wine and was never delivered the Sprite. After the glass of wine was finished, no one offered us another glass. Ordered a cutlet and it was raw. Told the waitress and she didn’t seem to care nor did anyone apologize. Also odd that we order 2 entrees and one appetizer and one entree and the app were derived at once. Then 10 minutes later the other entree was delivered thus it was odd that we didn’t eat at the same time. As we paid, they never even said Thank You. Just very poor service. Would recommend skipping this place.

The problem is that the photos showed -a Milano tasting experience with small portions in each course. Perhaps this restaurant in a hotel had complaints about this so we received 2 courses of MASSIVE potions of excellent food . BUT - the massive bowl of risotto with osso bucco followed by a gigantic veal Milanese left us totally bloated . It was frustrating because the photos of tasting menu sized portions would have been perfect.

The kitchen was not operating when we arrived which is forgivable, however the restaurant made no effort to notify guests of the issue. The food was decent but lacked basic seasoning. My wife had a pasta dish that was absolutely flavorless and our appetizer was fishy and lacking acid.

Il Cairoli is a pleasant restaurant inside a central Milan hotel, just a short walk from some of the city’s best landmarks. The menu features a selection of local and classic Italian dishes. I tried the Milanese cotoletta, which I found a little dry and underwhelming: the sides came plain, including the salad, though perhaps that’s simply the traditional way it’s served. The restaurant itself is comfortable, though it doesn’t really stand out in terms of atmosphere or personality. On the bright side, we enjoyed a really good bottle of Barolo, which was a highlight of the meal. The staff were lovely, and the overall value is fair. Worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Lovely food. Bread brought to table so we assumed it was included (as it had been everywhere else we ate in Milan). Another one brought and then taken away before finished. Both charged €5 each! Not very transparent.

The place looks nice, the service is good but the food is beyond disappointment. We were a group of three and all of us thought that the food is not even close to what we would expect from a good restaurant. When we asked if they have any sauce to accompany the dry meal that was brought to us we were given three choices: ketchup, mayo and mustard. We were in shock, we came to experience a good food and not McDonald’s.

Il Cairoli is in a very convenient location (part of Un Hotel) in a cute neighborhood close to our hotel near Duomo, it was a quick 1-2 stops via the metro and minutes from the exit. We were placed at a nice spot near a window as the sun was setting, there were other diners and guests of the hotel, though the staff were very attentive, kind and tried their best to communicate with us, though our Italian is less than adequate. We ordered a "Milanese Experience" which allowed us to sample many regional dishes, all excellently prepared, full of flavor and memorable. Highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Milan!

+10The restaurant location is very convenient and easy to find. The only thing we got confused about - the main entrance from the street was closed. We had to go to the side street, where the entrance to the hotel is, and get to the restaurant through the main lobby of the Hotel. The decor is pleasant and for our taste, relaxing. Nice view to the square, the castle and the sunset. The waitress took us to our reserved table right away. We order sparkling water and lemon, and that was served very quickly. The only thing that was strange at this point, counting we are in the upscale, Michelin rated restaurant, nothing was put under the bottle, so table became wet - not a big deal, but... The food was served promptly. Steak Tartar was very good, so the meatballs. Risotto with beef - OK, but just OK. Duck was cooked nicely, but missing some sweetness as for out taste (raspberry and red currant compote would be a nice addition). Octopus was very good. Nice chocolate pastry desert. Good prices.

So for starters we had the beef tartare (amazing!) and the amberjack for appetizers. They were both so delicious. Then for our mains we had the octopus, which was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth and the duck that was the best duck my boyfriend and I have ever had! I highly recommend eating here if you get the chance! We will be back next time we’re in Milan!

Food is amazing. They should turn down the lights inside the restaurant to improve the ambience. Also some planters with trees or flowers in front of the windows would add to the overall aesthetics.

The setting is lovely and the staff are very friendly and efficient. We had the octopus to share for starters followed by the pasta and risotto which was delicious. Would highly recommend. Great value with the Fork deal.
