we had eaten well here in 2019. the menu had become very seafoody and we didn't have seafood - perhaps we would have had a better meal if we had. But both of our pastas were pretty tasteless - the worst meal of a month in Italy. it's an enormous place and it's impressive how they run it, but that's not enough reason to eat there. As a last awesome gesture, the maitre d,' when we were leaving decided to try to do something flamboyant in preparing the table and dumped an entire glass of wine on my husband. He first seemed to try to blame my husband but finally gave him his card and said he would pay the cleaning. but we didn't have time to get it cleaned.

The area is nice with good ambiance and setting. The pizza and fish were good, but not great. Service was mediocre.

Very good restaurant in the heart of Milan. When we arrived, we were promptly seated upstairs. It was hot, so I asked the manager if we could move. Most restaurants in Italy would tell you NO! However, the manager kindly moved us to a fine table downstairs. There we enjoyed a great meal. The menu had pizza items on it, but we stayed with the traditional Milanese risotto, Veal and Misto Frito. I would definitely go back.

It is a place for those who love to try Milanese Italian food. I love breadsticks as an appetizer. I do recommend the squid tentacles fried with salad.

It was a busy evening and service was lacking. Everything took too long, including getting our food and getting the bill. The food was just mediocre. We got the costoletta which was pretty dry and tough. The seafood pasta cooked under a pizza dough was only average. The branzino Sicilian style was nothing to get excited about. I was hoping this would be more than a tourist trap, but unfortunately, it seems to be just that.

I had an excellent dish of pasta with lobster in a red sauce! Everything was great. We sat outside and the ambience was terrific.

We specifically were looking for a restaurant that served Osso Buco and was open on a Sunday evening. Il Cestino did not disappoint. It was easy to make reservations using The Fork, our server was charming and the food was outstanding. A very memorable last dinner in Milan. I only wish I had saved room for dessert.

Booked this restaurant for our one night in Milan. Lovely staff. Delicious food. Sat outside under heat lamps on a busy side street in the design district.

The Restaurant was superb. We enjoyed the meals; Spaghetti vongoles and a Steak ???? the service was very friendly and quick. We will come back.

Food was very good, but it’s hard to get bad food in Italy. The ingredients were fresh and well sourced. Amazing wine list, but being the only one drinking I had a glass of the house red and it was delicious! The real reason for taking the time to write a review is the staff. One and all were welcoming, friendly, and professional. Very impressed, I will return for sure
