We have had an horrible day but the food and the service at Il Frantoio helped us forgetting it all. We ordered many dishes, all outstandingly cooked and with an impeccable presentation! Worth a visit when in Assisi, highly recommend. Everything adjusted for celiac people!

Surprised my husband here for a summer dinner date! Service is great, atmosphere is spectacular, food - incredibly good and will definitely come back second time around. Hopefully they get a star soon. Deserved and highly recommended!

It was a great experience at Il Frantoio! The food and the service were excellent! I booked it for my husband's 40th birthday and it was a great choice, including the splendid view of Assisi's hills from the window.

First time in Assisi , we wanted a nice lunch before continuing our discoveries there . Il Frantoio proved to be an excellent choice for food , wine and service ; also the views are lovely !!! Food is creative but recognisable , really tasty and mooreish !!! The guys recommended a fantastic local Umbrian wine which was so good we ended up buying two bottles to take with us ! Also the tasting and combination of different olive oils to the dishes was really great as well as interesting , accompanied by some of the crudtiest , tasty bread we have had in Italy . A must go restaurant !!!

Il Frantoio was a playful and decadent dining experience. My wife and I did the tasting menu with wine pairings and we were not disappointed with any of our courses. The most decadent was a risotto with some gold leaf on top… my first time eating that! They had amazing food, amazing wine, and a beautiful atmosphere. Just a note, they love olive oil and basically every dish will have some component of olive oil incorporated into it. We loved it!

We chose the 5 course ‘trust the chef’. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, staff friendly and helpful. We dined outside, stunning sunset. The portions are small but if you choose the 5 courses, adequate. Be prepared for a long haul dining experience, we were there for 3 1/2 hours. Highly recommend if you have an evening to spare.

The food is very unique and special. My wife and me had the 5-course chef's menu. Every dish gave me wonderful surprise. The environment is excellent creating romantic and harmonious atmosphere. The service is very good. I appreciate the clear explanation of every dish before our tasting. Worth trying.

Restaurant view was the only spectacular thing about this restaurant. Our party was instructed that we all must order the tasting menu, or no one does seemed unusual. We opted for this, as it was Valentines day...the worst decision and waste of money from our entire trip to Italy. The tasting menu was eclectically disappointing. From a single dried up porchini mushroom and a crouton, floating on a dollop of foamed olive oil served in a sardine can to the black mess of crunchy risotto with raw squid that smelled like water extracted from the mouth of a catfish, the tasting menu was abysmal. We do give credit to the restraunt for the ever increasing laughter we felt with each course and it's excruciating ridiculousness. Shame on you, Michelin.

What an amazing experience. We went for lunch to celebrate my son-in-law’s 30th birthday. The food was perfect, the wait staff attentive and friendly. We even had the restaurant to ourselves. Highly recommended

Excellent food, huge wine list with a variety of prices, and excellent view over Assissi. This is a Michelin caliber restaurant, with the chef preparing creative twists on traditional italian food. We eat a lot in various Michelin star restaurants around the world, and Il Frantoio deserves to be rated. The foie gras wrapped in edible gold leaf was delicious, and all courses on the 7 course menu were excellent. Only slight disappointed was the rabbit and pepper pasta - a little too much vegetable inside, but the rabbit was superb. We want to go back already!!!

Attractive restaurant with a lovely view. Amuse-bouches were clever and generous, and most were good. Pasta course with crispy pork cheeks excellent. Beef course, described as a "filet" was very disappointing. Despite being ordered medium rare, it was cooked well-done, and it was definitely not a choice cut of meat: not a filet mignon, which is what we expected. It looked and tasted like dry pot roast. The chef presented another beef dish by way of apology, and it was a better cut of meat, cooked super-rare. Very likely you'll get an excellent meal here, but don't order the "beef cube."

Everything was perfect! We spent the morning visiting St. Francis Basilica and headed up the hill just a bit to Il Frantoio. We had made reservations for 1:00 PM lunch and when we got there (worth the short walk) we were seated by the window. There was an amazing view of the hillside. It was a beautiful day so the terrace doors were open. Alberto took great care of us. We splurged and tried the local tasting fish menu which consisted of four dishes and we were not disappointed. My favorite was the cod fish entree but the ricotta dessert was also delicious. The entire experience combining great views, great food and great service made it special and memorable.

The view was beautiful but even though we arrived as the restaurant was opened and empty the service felt rushed (something I noted in previous reviews) and many of the orders were mixed-up. My father received his second course when the rest of us received our first. My mother never received her first course, etc.
