I chose Il Morellino first because they offered Ossobuco, my wife’s favorite meat dish. We are visiting Florence to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary and wanted a romantic dinner with good food and wine. I’ll Morellino provided that in spades and more. The prosecco was exquisite as was the apperitivo of Burrata with orange and honey drizzle. Next was a primi of Ravioli stuffed with pecorino and pears in a very light bechamel sauce. Another dish that was beyond delicious. We accompanied the pasta with the house bianco wine which was a great pairing. For our mains, there was the aforementioned Ossobuco and my Filleto manzo con Pepe verde was spot on. Cooked to perfection at medium rare, the sauce was a great addition. And the Ossobuco was, per my wife, the best she ever had. In addition to excellent food, the service was 10. From food to wine recommendations, the results were spectacular. When in Florence, Il Morellino is a must visit.

the servers are super attentive and nice, willing to explain the menu and accommodated my friends who were feeling cold in the room by opening the back door. The ambience was unforgettable. The bistecca is the best, go for the last item on the menu. The bathroom is also the best equipped one I’ve seen in Florence. Baby powder, wet wipes, hygiene products in different size/brand… Love this place.

10/10At this restaurant we felt at ease right away. We were welcomed by very polite, warm and attentive staff, and the Bistecca alla Fiorentina was pure heaven! We loved the place so much we even stayed for another glass of wine after dessert instead of going elsewhere for a night cap. We highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you want to try the bistecca.

10/10Had a warm, hospitable and delicious experience here. The Florentine steak was wonderful and the house wine accompanied it beautifully. Don’t hesitate to try this spot while in Florence.

10/10the service, ambiance, and food were all excellent and the owner was quite friendly and recommended a great wine paring with our meal. One of the best wine's I have had in quite a while. the pear and pecorino ravioli was amahzing! highly recommend when you are near.

10/10This was a great restaurant and a perfect place to have dinner our first night in Florence. The atmosphere was upbeat but not too loud or raucous, and was cozy. The food was excellent - my filleto with peppercorns was so tender I only needed a regular table knife to cut it. My husband had lasagne that was fantastic. Cheesecake for dessert was also excellent. All the staff was friendly, accommodating, and efficient. I would highly recommend this place for a really nice dinner.

9.5/10A friend recommended this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. Il Morellino is a quaint little restaurant serving beautiful and authentic Italian classics. The meals were excellent and the tiramisu to die for. Definitely worth a visit!

We found it based on reviews, and having been in Florence for a couple days, we had enjoyed some great meals. So our experience with Morellino is striking. First, seated right away, servers were very attentive without being imposing. We wanted to sample dishes so we ordered things in stages. The staff said no problem, and even checked with us to make sure the timing was what we wanted for food coming out. We started with toast with chicken liver pate, huge winner! Really well made, subtle flavors while still being a fresh made pate. Grilled octopus was our other first course, cooked perfectly and not over seasoned. The pecorino and pear ravioli was next, amazing complement of salty cheese and slightly sweet fruit. We ordered a sequence of truffle risotto, truffle pasta, and truffle steak. 7.5/10Service was okay food was good. Waitstaff was friendly but. It very attentive. Table of young girls got a lot of attention and we had to keep asking for water. Empty bottles were left on the crowded table and only taken once I started to group them at the end of the table. We made the reservation through Fork and was supposed to receive a 20% discount but noticed after I paid that I didn’t receive it. Would have saved about $70 for our large party of 8. Insult to injury I receive a nasty note from fork the next day because they said I didn’t show up for my reservation and guilted me saying restaurant lost revenue because of it. They threatened to revoke my privileges if I continued this… No biggy, mistakes happen but less if you pay attention.
