The place is simply magical, the menu and venue were fantastic, staff were very kind and welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious! That said, as more patrons came, the service became much slower, we ended up waiting quite a bit of time between dishes and the bill…

Despite the incredible surroundings, the dining experience was no match for the remarkable setting. As soon as we sat down, we waited 15 minutes for menus until it was re-affirmed that the staff had forgotten about us. We were unaware that it was a set tasting menu for the weekend for Ferra Augusto, but nonetheless hoped for a good meal. We then ordered the wine, which was forgotten about TWICE (!) and only arrived after our appetizers had all been finished. No ice bucket ever came despite it being white wine and August in the summer heat. After we had appetizers, we had the first primi but then waited an astounding 45 minutes for the second plate which never came... We wondered if we had been forgotten about a second time, especially since our plates sat finished on our tables for 25 minutes. At this point we decided to leave. We offered to pay €100 for the 3/4 bottle of wine we finished and for one appetizer and one primi each. The reality is the meal wouldn’t have even been worth half this. We hope it was an unlikely night because the gardens are incredible and the hotel deserves to have a great restaurant.
