Super friendly service by English speaking waitress. Perfectly presented food that was delicious. The best steak and pizza in the whole of Sicily!

From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I was made to feel like royalty.. There were a lot more locals that tourists, which is always a good sign. The fact that the food was spectacular only added to my experience! Highly recommend the restaurant (just make sure you have a reservation).

This restaurant is a step above the normal fair around Catania. Their food is innovative, displayed creatively on the plates and delicious. They have a nice wine selection. Service and ambience were excellent. The only thing stopped me from a 5 star rating on the food was the tomahawk steak for two it was very very chewy. This is a must try just don’t order the steak.

We visited this restaurant last year and were really satisfied with food quality, however this year the quality was not the same. Lamb was overcooked and impossible to eat, vegetables overcooked, we visited a restaurant twice during our stay in Catania and were really disappointed.

This was booked for my Wife and I got our 40th wedding anniversary and the restaurant and staff went out of their way to make it the special occasion I had hoped it would be. I can't thank them enough for their efforts which showed the very best of Sicilian hospitality!

The food at Il Sale was very good. Lovely location and the staff was very friendly and helpful at recommending local Sicilian wines.

We are here during our honeymoon- it was outdoor seating, and it was perfect. The weather was not too hot, so outdoor was great. The noise level was not terrible considering it was outside. The food and service were among the best we experienced during our entire time in Italy. My husband is a vegetarian, and the food choices were plentiful and delicious. I am looking forward to going back during our next stay in Siracusa/Ortigia.

Amazing experience, dined at Il Sale twice during our stay in Catania. The food quality is excellent, location is very central and ambience is cozy. The menu is amazing. Will definitely dine here again if we are to visit Catania in future.

We dined here on Christmas evening and loved it so much we returned the following evening on our last night in Catania. Great choice of menu and very attentive service. Excellent value for money.

Really nice location, food is good, the service needs some serious attention. There’s clearly missing leadership - we were served by minimal 5 waiters - ordered with 2 - some tables get a welcome prosecco, most don’t. Upon my question why some get prosecco and some not - the waiter instead of admitting he was wrong, tried to find excuses telling the Prosecco is only served in circumstances....(!) He didn’t get the point it wasn’t about the prosecco but about the service, I would not visit the place again - service is important...good food is a lot easier to produce than great service

The food is not good at all... The spaghetti al vonghole were the worst I ever had...Don't go to this restaurant! The decoration is nice but the food is awful... It was such a disappointment...

The food wasn't well prepared, honestly as in Catania, I was expecting more. The horse meat was very dry. My grouper fish was almost raw. Almost none of the people who served us knew English, so that they could answer us questions on the menu, related with our choice. And finely, the lady who mostly served us looked bored rather than welcoming and smiling. Apart, the street is amazing.

In a lovely location this restaurant is a fun place with good food, makes for a great night out.
