Il Salumaio is just steps from the chaos of the Via Maqueda, but it feels like a different world. Walking in past the food prep area where you can see the quality of the ingredients destined for your meal, the upstairs dining area where we sat has an arched stone ceiling and just a few tables, making for an atmospheric environment. The service was kind although a little erratic, but the quality of the food more than made up for it. I opted for a Fassona steak, and my wife a mixed grilled seafood platter, with a side of sauteed broccolini, and a dessert of pistacchio semifreddo in a red fruit sauce. Everything was perfectly executed and attractively plated. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the meal. We would definitely return again if in the area.

10/10Life changing meal! The restaurant was in a cave! It was so magical and beautiful… but the food was out of this world! We 1000% be back!

7.5/10The service was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. The food was very good, although it was too heavily sauced (as if they were playing to American tastes). The pasta with sardines was particularly good. My only complaint is the outdoor seating, which is opposite a very garish curtain wall of bright Christmas-style lights. Perhaps sitting indoors is a better choice.

Delightful small restaurant with a varied menu. I enjoyed sitting outside and watching the passing people. They served very fresh seafood and had a nice wine selection.

The service is amazing! Waiters were so kind, so nice and so helpful. The atmosphere in total was fabulous. Food is really tasty and it's not that expensive Music was good. Will suggest to visit this place!!

we really enjoyed this restaurant. It was quiet. away from the noise of the street. We were in a mood for steak and this place did not disappoint. Reasonably priced as well. Give it a try if you want to get away from the street hustles and enjoy a great, quiet meal.

We were saved really quickly. We only had pasta dishes. They were both magnificent but the ravioli was amazing and we considered ordering it again. The staff were absolutely doing there best even though it was very busy and people were queuing into the street to get in.

8/10The overall vibe was positive! The staff and service were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Both pasta dishes were exquisite! The mixed salad was very tasty and clean, however could've been freshly cut; it seemed pre-packaged. The potatoes were also very nice (great herbs), however also not freshly made. The location is nice, but the fact that cars were driving by (close to the table) wasn't the best experience.

10/10This restaurant is a gem in the heart of Palermo! We sat inside, within the walls of an ancient building, under a dome of ancient stones. The waitresses were very helpful, the food delicious, the service fast. The atmosphere was amazing!

10/10The atmosphere and food were excellent. We had the meats and cheeses for an appetizer, carbonara and a tasty steak for the main. The canollo and tiramisu were delicious.

9.5/10The food was exellent, especially the Black Angus, tender and perfectly cooked. We also had pasta Giulio and street food starter ( fresh onion wrapped in bacon), which were delicious. Highly reccommended!
