10/10The couple that owns this place are absolutely lovely and do an amazing job with everything. They do everything from seating you to taking your order and cashing you out, all seamlessly and with a smile. Whoever is in the kitchen cooking is also incredible. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, decor etc. Would absolutely return on our next visit to Rome!

10/10We fond this place on Google. It seemed good review so we booked for dinner. It was our first dinner in Rome. Service was excellent, people were very welcoming. Very pretty restaurant, Food was just amazing. We enjoyed so much. Mixed fries ( starter for 2 people ), Oxtail in tomato sauce (main)and Tiramisu. I highly recommend these dishes Their wine list was great as well

9.5/10First time trying Amatriciana and it did not disappoint. Great flavour and plenty of guanciale. The service was attentive as well. Only reason it's not perfect was that we had to sit outside. I would've preferred inside seating but as I understood, they had it reserved for other guests. Regardless, I will come back next time for the Amatriciana.

10/10Fabulous restaurant. Ten days in Italy, and this was a standout restaurant. I can not recommend it more highly. Everything was great from starters to mains to dessert. We will be back.

10/10We had a fabulous dinner there and tried multiple items... the Frito misto, Alle gricia, Carbonara, Amitricaina, the meatballs in a mushroom sauce. All were wonderful. We also had a red and white wine as well as an aperol spritz and those were very good too. Highly recommend!!

10/10Our favorite meal in Rome, perhaps in all of Italy. Everything was delicious and the owner/host was wonderful, sharing with us about her mother’s recipes, all of which were fantastic. Recommend the eggplant, roasted vegetables on flatbread, cod fritters (yes, try them, I promise) and meatballs with mushrooms. The veal with ham was, in a word, stirring. Setting was so warm and even romantic, service was lovely and so very pleasant. I would recommend Il Tarallo to anyone and everyone.

10/10Absolutely perfect experience! Not only was the food the best we had in all 4 days we stayed in Rome, but the owner personally came by our table several times to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. On top of that, the price was exceedingly reasonable, and the serving sizes generous. Make sure to ask for the homemade desserts of the day! If it's available, we particularly loved the pistacchio cream.

10/10We had two delicious meals at Il Tarallo during our recent trip to Rome. There are many popular restaurants to choose from in the Trastevere neighborhood, but if you are looking for a more sedate atmosphere with food that is cooked with care, you should book here.

10/10They were very nice. We were early before they opened and they were so nice..just sit and drink til the kitchen is ready to go. Yummy cacio e pepe and meat and cheese plate. $5 wine. Can’t lose. Great service.

10/10This was a highlight meal in Rome and we will be back! The waitstaff was incredibly kind. The food was amazing. I especially loved the mussels. I have already recommended this to friends who will be in Rome soon!

10/10We had pastas: Amatriciana and Carbonara, meatballs in a white mushroom sauce and chicory. All very tasty. The wine and first course were served promptly but we waited about 40 minutes for the next course. We were seated outside in a little quiet street and enjoyed chatting with the people at the next table so the wait was pleasant. Definitely recommend

10/10Amazing classic Italian food. We ordered spaghetti cacio e pepe and the homemade meatballs with mushroom sauce. Both tasted really really good and were with very good quality ingredients. Service was also excellent. The owners are very kind and friendly. The place was not busy so it’s just perfect we can take our time to enjoy the meal. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner there and will come back for sure.

10/10We found this little gem on our last night in Rome. The food was to die for!! Everything from our appetizer to our desert. The couple that own and operate were amazing! So friendly and inviting. We had gone to a Michelin star restaurant the evening before. This by far blew that experience away. The food was so flavourful, great sized portions. The price was excellent. We recommended it to friends that are going to be in Rome this week. I highly recommend you make a reservation and taste it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!!! Ciao!! ????????

8/10It's a lovely place with very nice service; but unfortunately the food itself felt kind of disappointing. It's not like it was bad, but it wasn't as exciting as we expected. Two out of three dishes kind of felt like a "quick mom cook at home", while the prices and the ambience indicated it would be something more fun.

9.5/10Very nice little restaurant with some tables outside in a small, quiet street in Trastevere. Nice ambiente, very friendly service, big wine choice at very reasonable prices. The food is tasting like Mother did it with lots of love. We enjoyed every dish and each bite. The coda alla vaccinara, oxtail, was a dream. 4 hours of slow simmering in tomato sauce. The parmigiana as a starter was prefect, not fat. The surprise was the mousse au chocolat: a kind of cake made from mousse with hazelnuts. Fantastic, we nearly forgot to take the photo. My vegetarian friend ate ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach in a creamy, homemade sauce with gorgonzola and radicchio. The red Wine montepulciano d abruzzo was supposed to be left half full, instead we finished this smooth wine completely. This place is going to be my number one when in Rome as homemade cooking became very rare due to high tourism. Most restaurants, even expensive ones use convenient food, as tourists come only once so who cares... But IL TARALLO is different!!
