5/10This restaurant and take out used to be fantastic and I've been coming here for about 35 years, often with friends and foreign visitors. Unfortunately our experience last night was disappointing. The wait staff was curt and tried to rush us into ordering our food. This might be a cultural (eastern european) thing but a little training of a college student hire would go a long way. The beverages menu's were apparently in short supply since they immediately wanted all of them back the moment we had ordered drinks. It would be good to leave one behind in case someone wants to order another drink. The food presentation (rijsttafel) was mediocre. Instead of many different dishes the whole thing was presented family meal style which is not what a rijsttafel is about. Also there was zero explanation or description given of what each item was (again immature, inexperienced & untrained wait staff). Finally the food itself: The gado-gado, sate ayam & rendang were ok, the tofu and tempeh items were bland at best. Same with sambal goreng telor and sambal boontjes which seemed to be devout of any spices. Most of the food tasted pretty overcooked. Condiments wise the food was accompanied by the tiniest amounts of seroendeng and atjar and there was no sambal to be found. With Toko Frederik as is, restaurant Blauw in Amsterdam, and specially Utrecht, are a LOT better in all respects. Respectfully.

9/10We were there on a Friday evening for dinner. The ambience is cosy and quiet, the service is fast, the waitresses are very kind and helpful, the food is absolutely delicious. Excellent value for money.

8/10Good food and great service. We found that we could not finish our main course - 3 meat dishes, 3 vegetable dishes, satays, salad and sambals. Well priced. Décor is like a diner but not unpleasant.

8.8/10I visited this nice Indonesian restaurant in the heart of The Hague with three Americans who wanted to get acquainted with the Indonesian kitchen. Quite a delight for them and me too, being familiair with the "ricetable". Great food, well prepared with a lot of taste for a fair price. Not a very fancy restaurant, but not a tacky place, either. A very pleasant atmosphere with privacy. You go for the food, but somehow a very clean toilet matters too. Service by all members of staff, and especially the waitress, was outstanding: there when needed. You book a table through the internet easily and parking was easy and fair. An ideal meal. Highly recommended.

9.3/10I've been here for the first time and had a lunch with 3 of our Indonesian boardmembers. Very nice meal. Lots of variety. Important for us was a that the lunch was delivered fast and smooth. My guests were pleased with the quality of the food.
