Clams and fried shrimps for starters were perfect, fish of the day was soaked in butter and hardly any seasoning, lentils with smoked salmon was too salty, wine list is perfect, service is good. Excellent host and warm welcome.

My mother and I stayed in the neighborhood during our recent visit to Paris and went to Janette twice in one week because we enjoyed it so much. The staff is lovely (they remembered us from our first visit and warmly welcomed us when we came in the second time), the food is excellent, and the ambiance is cozy and inviting. I speak a little French but even if you don’t, you will receive the same kind welcome. The experience starts with warm bread and a dish of their wonderful homemade rillette. I grew up on Cape Cod, so I’m very picky about my seafood, and the oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had. The fish soup is wonderful and if you’re into tinned fish, the sardines are great. Can’t recommend highly enough. Merci mille fois! Nous espérons revenir très bientôt.
