+8Dining at Joia Milan was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had, especially as a solo traveler. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, allowing me to fully immerse myself in every detail of the evening. A highlight was getting to meet the chefs, which added a personal touch and deeper appreciation for the creativity behind each dish. I chose the Winter The Heart of Nature menu, and every course was beautifully crafted, showcasing seasonal ingredients in thoughtful and artistic ways. The flavors were layered, refined, and proved how elevated plant based cuisine can truly be. Matteo, my waiter, was amazing and explained each course with clarity and enthusiasm, making the experience even more engaging. The sommelier was also professional and knowledgeable, with pairings that complemented the menu perfectly. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable dining experience.

I am not given to hyperbole but the whole experience was SENSATIONAL. Incredibly authentic food and wonderful and engaged staff.

One of the most enjoyable meals we've had in a Michelin restaurant. The staff were fantastic and every course blew us away more than the last. Definitely recommend a visit if you find yourself in Milan

As the servers were describing each dish and the ingredients, you can almost taste the course. The first bite of each course abounds with the complimentary flavors of the various ingredients! We had the lunch tasting menu and added a glass of white wine as chosen by the staff. The staff were all knowledgeable about the course they each presented. We enjoyed meeting the various servers. Besides the food and staff, our final highlight was meeting one of the chefs and having a chance to ask questions about our meal. The restaurant is deserving of its Michelin Star! You won’t be disappointed!

I am truly not a fan of vegetarian food but this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Even if you are not typically a fan of vegetarian cuisine this place will exceed your expectations! It was an eye opening experience for me. I had this dinner solo while on trip and it is rare that I feel like I get the same service as everyone else in a restaurant. I was really impressed that the staff treated me as if I was a table of 4 or 5 and not an extra hassle.

We were curious to try this place for the first time, it is not up to what we expected from a stared restaurant especially concerning the service. The chef is creative, but the final result is not over the top. I would have expected a better overall experience.

+9The staff were welcoming but as my reservation was at 12:30 I was surprised the doors were still locked and it took them a few moments to unlock them (at 12:30). As a courtesy to the restaurant I didn’t want to be late but they were likely not used to someone showing up right as they open. The staff were welcoming and their English was good. They were serious and did not do much small talk. Perhaps it was a language issue so not a significant criticism. I appreciated them going over all the items but wish they had spent more time explaining the ingredients, the reasons for the pairings, and the overall themes. The only example they offered was that one of the cheeses was from the chef’s hometown. Under a colorful blanket was my favorite - mystical presentation and many interesting flavors and textures. I thought in the morning before sunrise was rather bland - a missed opportunity with a dal curry. The navel of the world was skipped because I had left a comment that I didn’t like mushrooms. I was disappointed this wasn’t replaced with another dish. The law of chance also stood out as being a nice mixture of textures and flavors and I appreciated the server prepping it in front of me. The golden volcano looked nice but the flavors seemed redundant. I don’t have a sweet tooth but perhaps having something sweet along with the tartness of the apple would’ve been nice. The mango ice cream was nice and neutral - more of a palate cleanser than an accompaniment to the apple/fruity volcano. An opportunity to see the chef, even briefly, would have been very welcome. Overall I’ll come back as I appreciate the creativity, vegetarian options, and commitment to sustainability. Bravo.

The most extraordinarily original dinner I have ever had. Neither my wife or I are vegetarian, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Amazing meal. As a non-vegetarian, it was stunning to experience a vegetable-based meal where the food is absolutely delicious in its own right, and isn't trying to be a meat replacement. Easily the best of it's kind that we have experienced. Highly highly recommend. P.S. if you just go for the risotto, it's still worth it!

The meal was exceptional and the entire evening was special. It’s so rare to find fine dining and vegetarian fare. If you’re in to tasting menus, fine dining and vegetarian or veg curious, don’t miss JOIA.

Great experience…6-course meal was super inventive and beautifully presented. We are vegan and restaurant was able to accommodate restrictions with no problem.

Quiet place, with great food. Very unique experience to go to a Michelin star restaurant that only serves vegetarian and vegan food. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Carnivore accidentally booked this vegetarian Michelin starred restaurant, but decided to keep the reservation to have a healthier evening after a week of heavy eating in Italy. Food had a clean, fresh taste. Inventive recipes and fun presentation.

Joia is simply outstanding every time. A cornucopia of flavours and schools even dedicated vegetarians on the success of creating a rich and varied meal without meat. Outstanding wine list and the markup on prices is not as high as in other restaurants. Always a delight to speak to the chef.

It was a mis-advertise when the tag was saying that is European. and then find out when I reached the restaurant that is vege. The presentation is excellent, however, the food taste is really not acceptable.

Another exceptional evening at Joia! From arrival to departure, service is outstanding. The service is matched with exquisite food - clever pairings and delicious flavors. An evening at Joia always promises to be a delight and last night was so exception.

The food at Joia was excellent. It wasn’t my first time- I have been there many times over the past 25 years. The flavors are exquisite though the portions are minuscule. Because they are so exquisite, it would be really wonderful if they could leave a card with what is in each dish because the waiters serve them and rattle off a long list of ingredients in 5 seconds which is easily forgotten. By the same token I felt the staff was young and aloof. And extremely slow. I don’t want a rushed dinner but I also don’t want one where it takes 1 minute to eat and 20 minutes to wait for the next course. Also I felt that it was more a vegan restaurant than a vegetarian one…

The best plant based meal I have enjoyed in Italy to date. Choice of 2 set menus. Interesting and delicious. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff.

As the chef himself explained to us, it's a celebration, a mystical experience. Every dish has a hidden surprise, a twist that transforms it. It's like traveling from Japan to Italy to Lebanon, all with a single dish. And then you're back again and a new trip starts.

We visited Joia for our 10 year wedding anniversary and it was the best restaurant experience we've had. The food was simply amazing in all its details and complexity.

There was a surprise in any bite. Food was very good, but also unique and surprising. Combinations of ingredients were unusual and fantastic. Like the food the service was superb
