As the servers were describing each dish and the ingredients, you can almost taste the course. The first bite of each course abounds with the complimentary flavors of the various ingredients! We had the lunch tasting menu and added a glass of white wine as chosen by the staff. The staff were all knowledgeable about the course they each presented. We enjoyed meeting the various servers. Besides the food and staff, our final highlight was meeting one of the chefs and having a chance to ask questions about our meal. The restaurant is deserving of its Michelin Star! You won’t be disappointed!

I am truly not a fan of vegetarian food but this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Even if you are not typically a fan of vegetarian cuisine this place will exceed your expectations! It was an eye opening experience for me. I had this dinner solo while on trip and it is rare that I feel like I get the same service as everyone else in a restaurant. I was really impressed that the staff treated me as if I was a table of 4 or 5 and not an extra hassle.

We were curious to try this place for the first time, it is not up to what we expected from a stared restaurant especially concerning the service. The chef is creative, but the final result is not over the top. I would have expected a better overall experience.

The staff were welcoming but as my reservation was at 12:30 I was surprised the doors were still locked and it took them a few moments to unlock them (at 12:30). As a courtesy to the restaurant I didn’t want to be late but they were likely not used to someone showing up right as they open. The staff were welcoming and their English was good. They were serious and did not do much small talk. Perhaps it was a language issue so not a significant criticism. I appreciated them going over all the items but wish they had spent more time explaining the ingredients, the reasons for the pairings, and the overall themes. The only example they offered was that one of the cheeses was from the chef’s hometown. Under a colorful blanket was my favorite - mystical presentation and many interesting flavors and textures. I thought in the morning before sunrise was rather bland - a missed opportunity with a dal curry. The navel of the world was skipped because I had left a comment that I didn’t like mushrooms. I was disappointed this wasn’t replaced with another dish. The law of chance also stood out as being a nice mixture of textures and flavors and I appreciated the server prepping it in front of me. The golden volcano looked nice but the flavors seemed redundant. I don’t have a sweet tooth but perhaps having something sweet along with the tartness of the apple would’ve been nice. The mango ice cream was nice and neutral - more of a palate cleanser than an accompaniment to the apple/fruity volcano. An opportunity to see the chef, even briefly, would have been very welcome. Overall I’ll come back as I appreciate the creativity, vegetarian options, and commitment to sustainability. Bravo.

Amazing meal. As a non-vegetarian, it was stunning to experience a vegetable-based meal where the food is absolutely delicious in its own right, and isn't trying to be a meat replacement. Easily the best of it's kind that we have experienced. Highly highly recommend. P.S. if you just go for the risotto, it's still worth it!

Each dish at this restaurant was well thought out and executed. However, the extremely poor service at completely overshadowed the otherwise good food. The head waiter and other staff created an uncomfortable and stiff atmosphere that made the overall experience unpleasant.

Carnivore accidentally booked this vegetarian Michelin starred restaurant, but decided to keep the reservation to have a healthier evening after a week of heavy eating in Italy. Food had a clean, fresh taste. Inventive recipes and fun presentation.

Joia is simply outstanding every time. A cornucopia of flavours and schools even dedicated vegetarians on the success of creating a rich and varied meal without meat. Outstanding wine list and the markup on prices is not as high as in other restaurants. Always a delight to speak to the chef.

It was a mis-advertise when the tag was saying that is European. and then find out when I reached the restaurant that is vege. The presentation is excellent, however, the food taste is really not acceptable.

Factthat u had just one choice - tasting Menu and aboslutely no other option is not palatable. Many dishes is. tasting menu was far far from my desired taste. So thats it how can i go. there again. I prefer to eat dishes which i really enjoy to eat. Just for experiencing it , well have done that.

Ordered the 15 course Zenith menu and non-alcoholic pairing (made in-house and love the unique flavours offered!). Chef Pietro himself personally took our orders including catering for special dietary requirements. Each course was beautifully laid out and tasted amazing. Loved the interaction of food served by the friendly waiters which put big smiles all night. Will definitely come back again!

Definitely a unique experience, but slightly disappointed given the price/hype. About half of the full tasting menu was spectacular, creative, and warranted a Michelin star. The other half was bland and lackluster. The ambiance was uncomfortably quiet and it felt as if you could not have a conversation without disturbing the other diners. At times I felt I was at a Zen retreat rather than a restaurant on a Saturday night. Service was of course wonderful. Overall, a little bit of an inconsistent experience, but glad to have tried it.

The food at Joia was excellent. It wasn’t my first time- I have been there many times over the past 25 years. The flavors are exquisite though the portions are minuscule. Because they are so exquisite, it would be really wonderful if they could leave a card with what is in each dish because the waiters serve them and rattle off a long list of ingredients in 5 seconds which is easily forgotten. By the same token I felt the staff was young and aloof. And extremely slow. I don’t want a rushed dinner but I also don’t want one where it takes 1 minute to eat and 20 minutes to wait for the next course. Also I felt that it was more a vegan restaurant than a vegetarian one…

Absolutely excellent vegan cuisine! The service and food were both exquisite. The chef even came out and had a lovely chat with us after finishing our dishes. Definitely recommend going there!
