8/10Nice view from the first floor. Entrance via stairs and toilets were a bit akward. Service was ok. Food was good, and presentation was ok as well.

6.5/10extremely noisy inside. Is ranked among "fish restaurants" but 90% of tables had "fondue bourguignonne!" (with the deep smell). Otherwise, food itself ok, and service in "learning mode"

7/10Booked for a really early dinner and after a bit of checking and pondering got “upgraded” to a table at the window (the weather was doubtful and not all tables on the terrace are guaranteed to remain dry in spite of the large parasols). Shrimp croquettes were found to be tasty and with a good mix of shrimp and not too running filling. No problem at all for the younger one to select the burrata starter as a main dish: tasty but quite a mouthful with pretty limited ‘accompaniments’. The Dover soles were a bit too dry. I got tempted by the mussels with curry and did not regret: good size, well cooked and with sufficient onion and celery in addition to cilantro. The curry was a bit thick but made for a great soup with the cooking juices of the mussels. Friendly and professional staff. So a tough one, this … as The Fork doesn’t do half plate scores … As soles should be what they do really well, I am stuck with 3 plates but will happily give New Amsterdam another try soon.

9/10Steak was really very good in quality, size and grill cooking with home made béarnaise. The entrecôte was excellent. Not often such good quality entrecôte eaten. Friendly host. Very good value for money.
