Wonderful food and service. Greeted warmly and shown to our seats. Very friendly and open atmosphere. We got the 5 course meal, and everything was wonderful. We got wine pairing with 3 different wines, 2 whites and 1 red; each pairing well with the food. We were all more than full and satisfied when we were done.

All the courses were very good. The flavours excellent. Felt some of it had been over complicated otherwise very happy.

The warm welcoming, the delicious unique recipes, the excellent and friendly service. It is a no fail choice. The food is lovely and so are the people. Both are essential for a prefect dinner night.

We had a wonderful dinner with charming attention from Chef Laurent Rigal and the knowledgeable server as well. Our welcome was warm; we loved the comfort of the room, the music was nice (and not too loud) and the chairs were comfortable. We shared everything and ordered only one menu, as usual, but we were served three amuse-bouche anyway! One was a tiny Mexican-inspired soup with a spicy ball of gel inside. It was creative and amused our bouche. We were served a tiny brioche as well as bread and butter. Chef Laurent was entertaining, and the server explained every dish well. For our starter, we had the Arctic char, and it was delicious. For our main, we shared the Bresse poultry; it was a creative way to serve it, and we enjoyed it. We were served pre-dessert and mignardise. We truly enjoyed Chef Laurent's generosity. For dessert, we had the Peach mint cream--excellent! L'Alexandrin was our 21st dinner in a restaurant in Lyon and it was our best!

+++ great place to go for dinner, for someone new to Lyon. Food is delicious (enough, not too much), wine paring exceptional, bill is reasonable. 10/10

Beyond memorable. At one point, younger and spending a significant amount of time in the country, I could hold a conversation. Now, I barely can mispronounce my own name. Were I able to speak, I'd probably still be at L'Alexandrin talking with chef/owner Rigal who, along with an equally competent colleague, worked the room all night. Each course exceeded that of the previous one and the wine pairing was generous. Very generous. Ok, very, very generous! An amazing evening, worth every Euro and one that we won't ever forget. Now, if only I could remember how too speak French.

Really an excellent lunch. Food was refined and generous (a rare combination). Laurent Rigal waited our table himself. Great explanations of the food and wine and their provenance (do try a dish with mushrooms, they were fantastic). A must do.

The restaurant was small and cozy. They held a large table for our group and served us the most amazing food. Everything was good including the meat and vegetarian dishes. Le chef était tres gentil et la norriture était marveilleuse!

We were able to get a last-minute reservation for lunch, and we were super happy with the experience. We chose from the 3-course ala carte menu and had a fois gras appetizer and Bresse chicken for the main course. My husband had the chef's signature chocolate dessert, which he thought extraordinary, and I had the lemon dessert which was also excellent. We asked the server to pair glasses of wine with each course, and she made some very good suggestions.

Incredible experience. We did the 8 course chef tasting and everyone was blown away. I really don't have words to describe how good it was. All 5 of us in our party thought it was a fantastic dinner. Hats off to the chef!!

The food was good but the drink price (pairing and aperitif) was not clear upfront and felt uncomfortable when we saw the overall charge after the meal. The food is reasonablely priced, drinks, not so much.

After doing a lot of research on Lyon restaurants before leaving Miami, we made a reservation for a Saturday night. Our decision was perfect. We received a Michelin quality experience with the chef/owner personally taking care of us and the other guests. It was a great authentic experience as it seemed we were the the only “non-locals” in the restaurant…and the only ones who were not speaking French. Everything was magnificent! We would highly recommend.

Loved the atmosphere of this cute little restaurant. The food was amazing, the service was great. The chef was so nice with recommendations and did an amazing job with the wine paring.

+5From the beginning to the end, the service was terrific. Rarely do you get to have such interaction with the lead chef, but he greeted us, took our order, and supervised the serving of the courses. Some of this superb attention was because we came during a slow season (March), but it was really amazing and made the experience feel all the more special. Food-wise, we ordered a la carte and were very pleased. Every dish was really good. The escargot (my first time) was really nice. My only minor nitpick is that the steak was a bit unmemorable; the cooking was fine, but the meat and seasoning were just a little bit bland. Beyond that, every other item was really good. And my wife's chocolate desert was amazing. We also let the chef pick our wines, and his pairings were top-notch. Would gladly eat there again and enjoy the great service.

Immensely satisfying evening! A warm welcome by the chef, every course was perfect, expertly prepared and served. Enjoyed a toothsome foie gras, charolais beef with carrot purée, and a warm chocolate madeleine . Two pre-course bites too, so by the end of the meal we were quite full, and happily so. Good price too- we really had a great evening!

Fantastic food and service

Delicious food, friendly service! Prices are on the higher side compared to L’ecume and Agastache, could be a bit lower. Would still recommend though!

The waiter seamlessly went between French and English for my American uncle and my French husband. We had to get my uncle to the train station at a particular time, and the staff were very accommodating in making recommendations on the menu to respect our time constraints. The food and drink was excellent!

food is excellent. we both took the all vegetables menu. highly recommended, you won't miss fish or meat. it's all well balanced, and builds up from fresh and light to more hearty and savoury. The place itself might be a bit too cramped for the number of guests they try to accommodate. It lacks privacy. the owner is a very accomodating host, but his support staff seemed to be new to this kind of work. just not attentive enough, and a smile every now and then would have been appreciated.

We dined in the kitchen and had a wonderful dining and learning experience. Fabulous Chef and team.
