L’Embriaco is both fine dining and great fun. A gorgeously renovated space hidden in the dense network of alleyways (“carruggi”) that make up Genoa’s old city. Sebastiano, the chef, is a great host and one is well taken care of by his warm and efficient staff. Food represents carefully prepared reconstructions of traditional fare, all artfully raised to a very high level of cooking. Prices are quite reasonable given the level of quality and generosity of the presentation. Highly recommended as a destination in Genoa’s fascinating historic center.
