It was a very nice celebration diner. My 17year old twins had their birthday.. as it was our first time on the island; we were not very very familiar with the food. We got nice explanation with the dishes. And the surprise was very nice; my kids weren’t expecting and they loved it..:) thank you for making our special night even more special.. we’ll return to the island and to your lovely restaurant for sure..:)

L’Essenza Bistrot is a very nice small restaurant in the historic district of Olbia with a sophisticated menu a la carte. If you are up to a full experience they propose interesting menu options for all the palates. We had a table inside because it was raining otherwise we would have certainly asked for an outside table. Mussels bombette to share and paccheri cacio e pepe with anchovies and lime are among my favorites. The price is reasonable and definitely in line with the quality of the food and service.

Exceptional food. My partner had the 5 course menu €85 & I had scallops & L’Essenza style fish & chips ( fab presentation ). We had delicious complimentary walnut bread, fish ball with mini croissant & salted butter. Wine list with French wine to top the excellent night. Sadly there was a family off a yacht with the daughter ( 16 or 17 ) giving her parents absolute hell!!! Her language & tone was uncomfortable for other diners.

Scallops excellent, risotto and fish tartar too. Tuna steak too well cooked and not very flavorful, had same sauce / sides as the scallops. More variety would have been nice. Foie gras too salty.Fish and chips very nice, would have served fried and fish in two separate paper bags.

This place is truly a hidden gem! While it may not have a Michelin-star yet, it is probably coming soon. The food was delicious and innovative (even the homemade bread/butter!), and the cute corner in the middle of Olbia Central was romantic, quiet, and perfect for a date night to end our vacation. We will be back next time we're in Sardinia!

Our most Enjoyable meal of our Sardinia trip. Very well prepared food from bread, to pastas to main course and dessert. Very little pretentious attitude for a Michelin rated place. Super glad we found it.

The restaurant had great reviews. We had the €85 tasting menu. Amuse booche was excellent. The rest of the meal was worse than terrible. The waitress was rude & when we complained she told us it was only us who thought it was rubbish! She was beyond rude. Mitchellin star? Must have bought that. My pork was inedible

Restaurant is nice and clean. However the service was not great. We told them 1 month ago that we have a vegan friend and expected the chef would prepare something special for her as promised. They gave her only salad and tomato based pasta (like any cafe/restaurant would) in a chef restaurant and there was “egg” on her salad so she could not eat. Waitress was kind and helpful in general. For me, the food and the plates looked sophisticated, I liked some of the dish very much but some of them were not very pleasant. So the general taste was average for a michelin recommended restaurant. I suggest everyone in Sardinia to go li Neuli Country Club. Great atmosphere, great service and great food.

The table was on the street, so it was a very hot summer afternoon , there were cars coming and going so noise was a drawback. Food quality is high. The staff was nice, and helpful.

The restaurant was adorable and made me feel welcome as a solo traveler. The food was amazing and somehow got better with every dish, which I did not expect. The service and wine recommendations were also spot on. Would visit again if I return and highly recommend to solo travelers and couples alike!

This little restaurant was a great experience. Welcoming staff. The amuse bouche was tasty and the warm bread too good to leave. We had the crevice and after the fregula with seafood. A lovely white wine to accompany the food. Not cheap, but worth every cent
