Our vist to L'Ortino on October 12 was unforgettable. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Among the many fine restaurants we tried while we were in Cortona for a month, this is the one, above the others, that we would most heartily recommend!

L’Ortino in Cortona delivers an unforgettable culinary experience rooted in creativity and elegance. We chose the “Origini” menu, a masterful journey through seven courses where coffee becomes an unexpected, brilliant thread tying each dish together. Highlights included a cod entrée delicately infused with coffee and a tomato-pasta pairing that surprised and delighted. The staff was polished, professional, and genuinely warm, guiding us with genuine charm and insight. Each plate arrived like a work of art, refined, thoughtful, and deeply flavorful. L’Ortino isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a revelation of what modern Tuscan cuisine can be.

Exemplary service- technically precise, yet warm, welcoming and perfectly timed. Food was a brilliant merging of technique and creativity. Bravo and Brava!

We went to the restaurant while vacating in Cortona, the experience was much above expectations with the owner being kind attentive and conversant. The food was excellent and the service pleasant.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! The best service and attention to detail we have ever experienced. The most beautiful dishes and glasses were chosen to complement each course. The food was exceptional and wonderfully paired with the perfect wine choices. I would highly recommend spending an evening here while you are in Cortona!

The setting was gorgeous, the service excellent and the food absolutely delicious! I would not be surprised if the next time we visit it has a Michelin star - we hope so. Bravo!!

+3Impressive chef tasting menu with wine pairing. I do these around the world and this one by far one of the more impressive. Unique play with flavors and display was impeccable. Staff made the experience unforgettable. Spoken in both English and Italian super welcoming to all that come. Can’t recommend this place more highly for ambiance and food/wine. Must come when in Cortona

The food was creative and delicious. The staff was attentive without being overly solicitous. The evening was a fabulous dining experience.

Upon arrival of the restaurant, we entered a small space hugged by a wall of (what looked like) medieval ruins to match that of the walls of Cortona. It was enchanting, and the owners (a husband/wife duo) were courteous, kind and are clearly passionate about the food they serve and service they provide. They were lovely and the food was creative, unique and delicious.

The tasting menu was fabulous... The way that they blend coffee into the preparation and presentation of the food is wondrous and tasty. And the story behind the restaurant is very interesting.

Mes remerciements to the chef and staff for making yesterday's dinner one of the most special memory for my wife and I. Haute gastronomie can sometimes be too cerebral, but here the chef manages to use his exquisite technique to deliver one of the most comforting and soothing culinary moments we've ever had. Grazie, maestro !

The food is sensational. There were three tasting menus vegetarian menu, a coffee inspired and seven course more traditional offer plus a la carte. We opted for ‚ Origini‘ the coffee inspired menu which was a culinary adventure. L’Ortino delights the senses - it is stylish at every level, the food is inspired, the combination of flavours and aromas are designed intricately and the staff are knowledgable, engaged and delightful. How to pair a wine with coffee inspired food? Ask - they know. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced considering the quality. This was our second visit and it was just excellent in every way. Well done L‘Ortino.

We spent a wonderful family evening with imaginative and tasty takes on Tuscan cuisine. for vegetarians this was the best place in Cortona.

We were a family of 12 (9 adults and 3 young children). We had the 7 course tasting menu. It was delicious, the service was superb and the wine too. The outdoor terrace is private and quiet despite being just off the centre of Cortona. It was our second visit and we will go back again

Incredible place, hidden treasure in the city of Cortona. Very tasty and avant-garde food, great service and ambient. A great option to experience something different, but with the base of the traditional Tuscany food.

Warm welcome…beautiful setting on their patio…excellent tasting menu with wine pairing….hard to choose a favorite dish but will try to return during our stay in Cortona!

It starts with the food which is excellent, unique and perfectly executed. Then the wine pairing which was so good it inspired us to visit the one of them. Then we spent time with one of owners after dinner and got the whole story. Quite inspiring and touching. 100% would go again and again.

L'Ortino has the chance to be *the* destination restaurant in Cortona. The food, ambiance, and service all rate very high. It is an elegant place to dine. We have had the vegetarian tasting menu twice, which they easily modified to be vegan for our friends. It is an amazing option, especially in Italy, and extremely well done and delicious. Highly recommended on that basis alone!

Our second visit, this time with friends, and we weren't disappointed! We ate in the pretty little garden which is private and quiet. There's plenty of room inside the newly renovated restaurant if it's raining or cool, but outside in the garden's lovely if the weather's good. The food is imaginative, delicious and beautifully presented; it's more international than traditional Tuscan but that's nice for a change, and it's great to see young local people giving it a go. The service is attentive without being intrusive and we were given great wine recommendations. A great night out, highly recommended!

Michelin ⭐️ soon. Great ownership with fantastic and unique food. Magnificent selection of wine as well including local all natural wines from Tuscany and Umbria. We will be back.

Best dining experience for a long time . We will definitely become regulars . Service , food , ambience all perfect . The chef really knows his trade and is humble and charming . We loved every moment .
