Gem of a restaurant in Naples. Food quality is excellent as is the service, and the bill will put a smile on your face!

Service was typical for Napoli, although it took a long time to pay after we asked for the bill. Limited menu but food was made fresh and excellent. Expensive.

The whole evening was a fantastic experience. Paulo was extremely patient and helpful. As the menu was written in Italian he went through each dish in detail and even showed photos of some dishes. He also brought several wines to the table and went through these in the same detail . More importantly the food was great and so was the wine. At the end of the meal His father booked us a taxi and waited outside with us until it arrived. It was definitely our best meal in Naples & Sorrento.

Traditional family-run osteria situated on a small side street with friendly service at very affordable prices. The menu is written on a chalk board at the restaurant entrance, and guests are kindly asked to take a photo of the menu before entering the restaurant. Both meat and fish dishes were skillfully prepared and very tasty. The mussel soup was delicious, and the crunchy crouton bits were the icing on the cake. The swordfish steak was perfectly grilled and the Neapolitan meatballs with tomato sauce were utterly tender and the sauce had an incredible depth of flavor. For a sweet ending, we tried their ricotta and almond tart, just scrumptious! The stuffed calamari, however, was an interesting dish, although the cheese stuffing slightly overpowered the subtle taste of the calamari and the calamari itself was a bit chewy.

If you are looking for a real Italian dinner experience, this is it! No menu, no English but we figured it out and had an amazing meal. Such pride in this little gem.

The restaurant opened a few minutes after 20:00 with the lights turning on at 20:05 or so. Our reservation was at 20:00, so we didn't see the restaurant at all until we realized we were lost. When we consulted Google Maps and turned around, we saw the proprietor turn on the light. Strange. After being greeted by the chef or owner (we have no idea who he was), he yelled at Lucca the waiter to tell him to deal with us. Lucca apparently is the only person who speaks English and the proprietor didn't even bother to try to speak Italian to me (which I actually do speak). The food itself was good. The quality and preparation of the meal were high and we enjoyed every course.

Delicious honest memorable. How I wish I could write that in Italian. Such charming patient service. Such great food. Extremely good value. Decent wine a half bottle of falanghina, two antipasti, pasta con gambas, gorgeous desserts. 10 out of 10.

It was our last night in Napoli and we headed down to L'osteria with rumbling stomachs ready for some delicious Italian food. My word were we not disappointed. The best way to end our trip. We arrived and our waiter, I think his name was Davide (excuse me if I have spelt that incorrectly), welcomed us with the biggest smile and sat us down in the cosy back room. There wasn't a menu, just the recommendations from Davide. Fried courgette flowers; basil and pea arincini balls and, honestly, the best croquettes we have ever eaten - they were like little fried clouds. We moved on to our pasta mains and it only got better. A mussel spaghetti and pasta alla Genovese that absolutely blew our minds. We washed it down with their house wine and a couple glasses of limoncello. Full to the brim we left with smiles on our faces. We'll definitely be back again.

Their eggplant parmigiana is the best my girfriend and myself have ever had so far. Unbelievable. We had a fairly light meal, with the parmigiana starter & some grilled vegetables followed by pasta. However a lot of people seem to come here for major, all-out meals. We saw other tables having all kinds of starters and large platters of grilled fish which looked delicious. The only catch is that there is no written menu, the waiter explains everything in Italian, smiling warmly all the time and being very patient (he might also have some english, it was our choice to try to do it all in italian). This restaurant is an interesting combination of fairly large space, with a good number of tables, but thanks to the service there is a much smaller, very cosy and individual feeling to it, as if you were invited into someone's home. And again: you have to taste that eggplant parmigiana!
