+2Nestled in a quiet part of town, the food here was top notch in terms of taste and presentation. Service was attentive and not intrusive and the ingredients for each dish were explained clearly. All in all, highly recommended and worthy of the positive reviews!

9.5/10We arrived for dinner on a Thursday evening, finding only one other table occupied. The high staff to guest ratio felt rather overwhelming and it took us a bit of time to develop an ambience, where we felt relaxed and comfortable. We needed not to worry about the food however, these guys knew their stuff, although some dishes were a tad over seasoned.. Flavours were interesting and enhanced the fresh , quality ingredients. As the evening progressed, service was more relaxed , friendly and we enjoyed an enjoyable evening

9/10Our first night in Sicily and our first meal was at this restaurant. The seven course protein tasting menu was mine and my date had the 4 course vegetarian. There was a dish that featured grilled or smoked tuna drizzled with a savoury sauce that was as good as anything I have eaten in my 65 years. Fantastic. The wine paring was perfect for each course. Our only complaint was that we were seated at 8pm and departed at midnight. And after a long day of international travelling it was just too long. That said our servers were really professional, personable and predisposed to anticipate our needs.

6/10A pleasant dining room and attentive service but disappointingly average food , nicely presented but not inspiring for an establishment boasting one 1 Michelin Star, An immediate non-food irritation was that the a la carte menu as opposed to 3-4 tasting menus was only accessible via a QR code . Ok for a beer or wine list at a fast food joint but really at a purported upscale restaurant - a real turn off , would not go back for that alone . For starters we (3) had s seafood ceviche very tasty but a huge unattractive portion, grilled octpus as chewy as old boots and a rather al dente rissoto . For entree a duck dish was consider ok but 2 portions of a beef cheek chimi churri were tough with tasteless mash potatoes . Summary a nice ambience, very pleastant waiter and sommellier but rather curt manager (?) Given inexpensive wine list , not overall expensive but not near a 1 star on food quality or flavor . Would not recommend

10/10L'Ottava Nota is a great place. It offers excellent cuisine, carefully selected ingredients, many flavors, wonderful interpretations of different dishes, and very friendly Staff. It is an outstanding place in Palermo. On a scale from 0 to 10, it is ten+. I highly recommend it.

6.5/10The presentation of the food was the positive. I was honestly disappointed in the menu and options on the alacarte menu. Started with an appetizer that was freezing cold with shrimp, not what I expected. Then went on to have the gnochetti that was completely flavorless and my husband had the risotto with sea urchin that was overly fishy. It took an extremely long time to get a basic glass of red wine. We ordered dessert and it took so long we tried to cancel and then they brought it out. Ordered profiteroles that were very basic. Overall disappointing.

10/10The servers were very attentive. Their wine selection was excellent and ofcourse the food preparations were great. We ordered off the al la carte although I am sure the taster’s menu must be excellent too.

+6Phenomenal! Wonderful food exquisitely presented, beautiful to look at better to taste. The vegetarian option was beyond my expectations and I highly recommend trying eat even if you are not a vegetarian.

5.5/10We arrived, no warm welcome, placed in a bland space with no windows/paintings to relieve the space. With one other couple. Given a QR code for the regular menu but the wifi did not work. The tasting menu had a large printed menu, how difficult is it to print out a daily menu? I do not want to start a dinner with my partner with both of us staring at our phones.Finally the manager had to explain the fish course that would not download. No apology and little charm. The wine waitress unable to explain the provenance of the wines. And the food itself was over treated and amazingly bland throughout. Would not recommend. Not a warm or enjoyable experience.

10/10My husband and I visited last week for his birthday and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We ordered the 7 course tasting menu and it was definitely the right decision. The food tasted amazing and was presented beautifully. The waiters were very attentive and explained each course as it arrived. The first few courses arrived quickly, then they slowed through the meal. I love the focus on local ingredients and thought the flavours combinations were well thought out. The restaurant has a great ambience, the perfect setting for a special meal!

7.5/10The food was beautiful and delicious. The servers were polite, friendly and professional. Unfortunately the timings took much too long; we were there for nearly 4 hours - so by the end we just couldn’t wait to leave. Our glasses were empty for much of that time too which was incredibly frustrating. They weren’t on the ball with asking if we wanted more to drink or remembering our orders when we had asked for something. I wouldn’t return which is a shame as the food was fantastic and the people were friendly.

+6I had one of the most amazing meals of my life here. I visited L’ottava nota while visiting Palermo. I wish i could live here long enough to become a regular at this restaurant. I had the seven course tasting menu along with the seven wine pairings. All the courses were incredibly delicious and all but one had me making happy food noises. The wine pairings elevated and matched the food perfectly. I never imagined that truffle ice cream could be part of an appetizer course and take three delicious dishes (foi gras, raw tuna, and beet) to a level I had never imagined. This course will live in my mind forever.

3.5/10I booked a table for ten people well in advance for a birthday party. When we arrived at the restaurant, to our surprise, we were placed at three different tables, with a step separating one from the other. I was not warned that it would be like this. If I had known, I would have booked another restaurant. There is only one word to describe the service at this restaurant: disastrous. The waiters are careless, inattentive and clumsy. Nothing special about the food.

9.5/10Restaurant was amazingly spot on all the way through! Accommodating service to a la carte selections from tasting menu...thankfully as the duck filled pasta nestled into a sauce of arugula and enhanced with a dressing of provolone sauce would otherwise have been missed! What a gem of a find in an otherwise very incongruent neighborhood...it made a very fantastic start to our Palermo trip!! Mille Grazie...

This restaurant was a recommendation from a friend and I do not regret it! The food was incredible. Obviously a lot of intention & care goes into the sourcing of quality local ingredients, creative recipes, and presentation. The service was also excellent.

+1L’Ottava Nota has a well deserved recognition for being one of the best restaurants in Palermo. The restaurant is modern and well set. The service focuses on the customer with great attention to detail to ensure a memorable experience, and the food is delicious. Well timed and served at the proper temperature. In summary, a highly recommended restaurant for all occasions and a must when you visit Palermo.

The tasting was wonderful. Each dish was better than the rest. I had no idea that shrimp could taste so good. Same went for the risotto dish. Not mention how delicious truffle ice cream was. My wife is pregnant and the staff was really accommodating and provided alternatives to foods she couldn’t eat. Would gladly recommend this place to anyone visiting Palermo!
