    Interesting food with some creative combinations. Service was slower than expected, but some waiters went above board. Wide pairings were OK but didn’t really enhance the dishes. The red wine, especially was much harsher than expected.

    A picture perfect setting, excellent but personable service with locally-sourced dishes of a superb quality. Hard to fault! Its other outstanding quality is parking on site, a rare commodity in Bonnieux!

    Food is good. Service is not good. We wait 10 min to get the menu and wine list (restaurant was empty). White burgundy was too cold. We had to refill our glasses ourself. Coffee served cold without under cup.

    The ambience was lovely. For the price and the Michelin star rating, we were disappointed by the food. The presentation was good, but the flavors fell flat. We had an eight course meal for half the price in Paris earlier in the week and the flavor of the food was so much deeper and more surprising. Perhaps the night we are at La Bastide was an anomaly; it’s clear the chef takes pride in his food, but based on our experience and expectations, there is room for improvement!

    Excellent, well cooked and tasteful meal in a beautiful setting was towards the end of the evening overshadowed by a considerable lack of attention to service. Our remaining wine was only served with the cheese, when we asked for it, plates were cleared only after 20 minutes (when we asked for service), we ran out of water. After we settled the bill and we’re leaving the table, mignardises turned up…no coffee or tea was proposed. All in all a rather disappointing experience.

    Absolutely terrible service marred a Michelin restaurant experience. We had 8:00 reservations, got served an amuse bouche and slice of bread fairly quickly but then were ignored for the next 1.5 hours. As the waiters and staff were scurrying about, we sat and waited. Finally at 9:30 or so we received our first course. The courses were flavorful and somewhat creative although 3 straight courses included wisps of foam. Also one of our party had a food allergy and the entire table received the mediocre substitute. The dessert was fair at best. We received our last dessert course at 12:20 a.m. and for the last 40 minutes or more we were the only people in the restaurant. People who had reservations later than us were long gone. Also when we arrived there was no one to greet us, we wandered around a bit looking for someone to check us in. During the entire meal the wait staff seemed to hurry the serving of the courses. The service was atrocious and the food not up to Michelin standards.
