9/10The setting is lovely, outside on a well designed terrazzo. Unfortunately, right next to a busy road, but still very pleasant. The short menu is filled with interesting choices…their sourdough bread with smoked eggplant on time and then smoked pepper spread is a good way to start. I had their pasta with ragu, a rich meaty sauce, one friend enjoyed the risotto with saffron and zucchini, and another thought the duck was one of the best she has had…lean and delicious. A limited dessert list includes American key lime pie, and it is very good. Their wine list is priced high with few choices. There definitely should be a red wine availble for less than €30 but there isn’t. The food prices are reasonable. A new addition to the good choices in the Orvieto area, worth seeking out for its different dishes, and very gracious service.

9/10This new trattoria in Castel Giorgio really raises the bar of quality in the region. The short menu is full of excellent dishes with a difference, all very well prepared. We had their small margherita pizza and their sourdough bread (unusual in Umbria) with smoked eggplant spread. Both were delicious. An antipasto of lamb on a skewer was a bit fatty, but tasted good. Two of us had their burgers and declared them excellent, each one cooked as requested (one medium, one rare). I had their ragù gigli pasta, an unusual trumpet shape with meat sauce. Very good. And then their pork Milanese, basically Wiener Schnitzel, It was well prepared and served with a big lemon slice. Unexpectedly, in addition to the typical (and boring) tiramisu for dessert, they offered key lime pie. A delightful surprise, and very good too. The outside setting is lovely, Right now they have few tables indoors. Wine prices are high. They need to offer a wine or 2 under €30.
