10/10It took me a few days looking online for somewhere nice to eat and found this place on trip advisor the restaurant was amazing as was the staff and the food was perfect we will definitely be returning back here again

Wonderful service from a friendly but so professional front of house team, plus exceptional cooking from the kitchen team and good value especially for the set menus (with at least five choices for each course). Favourite dishes included the marrow bones with barley risotto, the sweetbreads, the steak and all the desserts! Located in a small city centre street with plenty of free on street parking, La Buissonnière is about 15 minutes drive from the shuttle. We visit most times we’re passing through Calais and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start a holiday in France with an excellent meal.

What a lovely surprise, a typical French restaurant with the atmosphere, great attentive service and excellent food prepared and presented and eaten with gusto from a full classical French menu. A restaurant with a great history and operated by the same family for 36 years and hopefully with more years to come as we will be returning and heartily recommend to all others.

9/10A very warm welcome and lovely surroundings. The menus were all interesting making the final choice hard. My main course of Lamb Wellington was excellent though we found the fish soup warm rather than hot with only three croutons between two. We’d definitely return.

10/10This restaurant has probably been a Calais institution since the 1830’s. You can tell the staff are at the top of their craft. It was a real pleasure and honour to taste one of their evening menus, with wine. I’ll be back with friends.

10/10The entire experience was a sheer delight from beginning to end. A traditional French restaurant offering an excellent set menu at €24 for two courses (starter & main) and €5.50 for a featured dessert. Everything ordered was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The gracious owner and young waiter were very attentive throughout. We would highly recommend!

9/10We were directed to this restaurant by the lady serving at L'Intendu near the station. Unfortunately it closes on Wednesday and Sunday. A fortnight later, we booked for our return journey - on Tuesday! We were welcomed by Claudine as if we were old friends. The service is impeccable, the menu outstanding and the food perfect. We intend to return. Afterwards we read the reviews - all saying that La Boissonnaire was the best restaurant in Calais. I can believe it is.

10/10We were looking for a quick dinner before getting Eurotunnel, but what an absolute gem we found here. We couldn't believe such a beautiful authentically French restaurant would be situated right by the Centre Commercial shopping centre in the middle of Calais (which is handy, as parking was free for 90mins!). This review will sound a little gushing, but having had to regretfully settle for McDonalds in the past due, to opening hours and the time of our crossings, we were just delighted to find this restaurant. The whole place excludes old world charm, as did Madame Patron and our her staff. The food was stunning and the bill very reasonable. It was an amazing way to finish our trip and an unexpected pleasure to find a place like this. Food was available from 5:30pm, although I think the usual opening time is 6pm - which is earlier than most proper restaurants . This meant we could have a lovely meal before getting our 8:15pm crossing. Thank you for an amazing experience.

10/10Typically French with a big F. Nothing had changed from previous visits, nothing needs to. Everything remains perfect from the decor, the wonderful table settings and the attentive, polite, friendly helpful staff. It made our trip fantastic .

Very nice classic restaurant with wide variety of choices on the menu. Excellent service and very tasty dishes. Nice opportunity to also take demi bottles as we stopped here for a nice lunch on our full day trip.
