The restaurant and all of its amenities such as food etc etc are decent but that is all, nothing special or exceptional about it. Also be aware of the fact that the staff does not speak English fluently, at least not all of them

Our meal was truly delicious and the staff top-notch. We went on a VERY slow night. Our only disappointment was simply decor and ambience. We did not realize it’s a restaurant within a hotel and it just didn’t have the charm and Florence feeling of local places. Felt a bit clinical. However, the food was 10/10 !

Absolutely great experience!!! Outstanding service by Kristina and delicious meal. The wine selection is impressive. I think it was my best Italian red wine I tried in the restaurants here. Highly recommend this place.

Food and service was wonderful - very nicely appointed restaurant; off a lovely square - it is part of a hotel that seemed very nice! One thing that we saw was a young boy being chased out of the restaurant rather severely by the waiter that I wondered about... Until we later learned that children are being used to steal, so I think my friend's purse might have been misappropriated except for the waiter's fast reaction time.

2nd time we have come here- the zucchini soup is worth the trip! Very kind and patient with a tired family of four that struggles with the Italian language. Food is so good and service considerate, in such a beautiful location. We come every time we are in Florence- a best kept secret of the city. Head waiter, and all wait staff, really thoughtful and attentive.

Location is gorgeous. Having the misting machines on was nice, but once it got cooler it seemed like they should have turned it off. They served me champagne in a wine glass, which was strange. They did not have the vegetarian tasting menu that was listed on their website. The chef accommodated me, but I was very disappointed to not have the items I was expecting. Everyone was very kind, but the service was very slow and dinner took 3 hours!

Nice locarion and ambience. Service was in general good except for the head waiter who first seemed nice and recommended the main course for us. He told us that they made the best Florentine steak and he could order the appropriate amount of meat for 4 people (2 women 2 men). We trusted his expertise and let him make the order for us. When the steak was served it was 2 kg of meat!!! We could hardly eat half of it. I really felt he had fooled us completely when we received the bill. I confronted him when we received the bill and was really angry with him so he only charged us for 1 kg! So be aware don't let him recommend you the steak without deciding first the amount of grams!

Welcome was warm and service could not be faulted. We had the onion noodle starter, which is one of the best starters we have ever had. The pasta and main courses were similarly excellent. A very memorable evening.

Excellent restaurant! The food was very good….the asparagus salad was creative and tasty, the pasta and minestrone soup among the best we ever tasted…and the presentation of the dishes was exceptionally excellent! The only weak dish was the veal cutlet … it was more of a thick chop that could use tenderizing and a better breading along with some seasoning. As for wine and bread… WOW! I would certainly go back for the pasta and wine!

Amazing dining experience from start to finish. The lemon chicken and the onion noodles cooked ala cacio e pepe were standouts. Only high praises for the chef and the service crew!

We were impressed by the food offered for dinner, and enjoyed every piece of it. However, taking in consideration the location of the restaurant, where hungry tourists stroll around, it would be great to clearly indicate that the nature of establishment is high-end of gastronomy kitchen. This knowledge would help tourists not to mistaken it for one of traditional trattorias with hefty plate sizes. For our taste, all for great, where each of the waiters were showing their hospitality and professionalism.

Do not go here for an authentic Tuscan or Italian meal. We got the spaghetti (flavor was bland and noodles were maybe wheat), and duck (small portion), and sliced beef (poor meat quality especially for Florence); then the mousse dessert was vegan (more like a pudding or flan than mousse), which they tell you after eating it.

Service was perfect and we had a good time, food was excellent. They have a nice terrace but because of the weather we could not enjoy the outdoor.

Lovely setting and service was excellent. Food was high quality. Restaurant very quiet tonight but unobtrusive background music created nice ambience. Onion soup was divine.

The restaurant is a little bit more expensive than the average restaurants here in Florence but it is worth it. The food has an excellent quality. The prices for the drinks are much higher than in other restaurants! The service is very good.

There were only a few tables full at La Buona Novella on a Thursday night which really made us feel as if we were well taken care of. The food, mushroom appetizer, sautéed spinach, barbecued pork, and fish, with rose and Chianti, were exceptionally fresh and delicious. Good value for excellent dinner.

Attentive service at a lovely restaurant in Santa Maria Novella plaza. We were presented with creative and delicious amuse-bouche and bread selections. Our pasta dinners were excellent. We recommend this restaurant for a special night out.
