My red Mullet was superb as was the warm service and busy atmosphere I will return

I'm my opinion overrated. Restaurant also smelled like a bathroom upstairs, plumbing problems?

After reading other reviews we decided to try La Cantine de Mémé on our one night stay in Nice, and it did not disappoint. Excellent friendly service with help given on menu and wine choices. Delicious food served promptly, but we did not feel rushed. Great atmosphere and a lovely celebratory meal for my mums birthday

We really enjoyed this place! The food was inventive and delicious. Because the menu changes every 2 weeks you may not be able to have what we had, but the onion soup and cauliflower starters were excellent. Interesting blend of flavors and textures. The duck breast and scallops also tasty and well cooked. A gem in Nice!

Veal tartar is great, tuna for main course is good, but not all the incredients they used for this portion. Wine recommendations succeeded very well. Surroundings is quite plain, so it’s all about the food.

very nice location. too bad that when really hot in the summer you get the mell from sewage outside on terrace, it was not so strong but still leaves a bad memory. food and menu te very good. plates are served in a very nice deco fashion . wine a bit pricey (46 eur a bottle was on low end) but good . too bad only when it was ti.e to pay were we told that credit card was not working (we stayed over 3 hours) and were obliged to pay cash. we gave more (10 eur) but never got our change ...I mean we were ready to tip but I find it quite unprofessional to not give the change or even acknowledge the fact. it's even rude

After a month travelling in Italy and France, this lunch was the restaurant highlight of our trip. The food was amazing (fresh ingredients sourced so the menu changes regularly) and the service was perfect! We couldn’t recommend it more!

This restaurant is quite different from most others. Some of the dishes are true gastronomic delicacies. It’s definitely a place worth trying.

Have been in France for ten days and this meal was the best hands down. Creative, delicious, light and I have to say I wouldn’t have been surprised at the end if the restaurant had Michelin stars, it was that good

Nice little restaurant. However, it is a bit overrated on Trip Advisor (4.8). The food was good but not great. They have a limited amount of menu selections (only 3 main courses). Curiously, the restaurant was full, but only english speakers, zero french which should tell you something. Service was excellent.

And this Sunday it was Mother's Day in France + Closing GP F1 in Monaco... that's why more clients from abroad were here. But regulars clients (French) were here Monsieur Kind regards and enjoy your days in the South

Great environment but a big No to the food. Fishy and salty fish, hard to chew beef, below average smoked salmon… but super overpriced. I don’t know how it gets over a 9/10. 6 is for the environment
La Cantine de MéméJe ne vais pas me donner la peine de vous répondre en anglais. Je refuse près d'une trentaine de personnes par service facilement et j'ai les boules d'accepter et de servir des clients tels que vous. La truite de cians est en gravlax. Je vous laisse donc chercher ce que cela signifie. Mon tartare est du veau et hareng et non du "beef". Vous parlez d'environnement ou d'ambiance... vous étiez en extérieur et non en intérieur. à la vue des produits servis et du quartier... prix "overpriced" ... Votre hypocrisie lors de ma venue durant votre déjeuner me débecte.

Great wine selection. They had 3 dinner plate options (which they change every 2 weeks) and we ordered 2/3 of them and they were both a hit. We also ordered the veal tartare as recommended by our waiter and enjoyed it. Cannot go wrong with anything you choose to eat there. Service is great and the waiters are friendly!

Service was excellent as was the food. Very accommodating. I had the cod which was perfectly cooked. The accompaniments were delicious as well. My husband had the vegetarian dish which was crispy tofu. It was quite flavorful and had a delicious sauce. He also loved the special salad and aubergine that came with it. We got there when it opened (7:30pm) and people kept streaming in. Most had a reservation but others were accommodated as well. We sat outside and were very comfortable. It's a half block from the crowds which made it even more enjoyable.

We shared the asparagus starter. It was delightful. My husband had the sea bass and I had the gnocchi. Both were superb. We shared the cheese at the end and loved them all. The waiter recommended the most delicious rosé. It was amazing. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this place

Small menu, food well prepared. Extensive wine glass by the bottle. They offer wines by the glass but don’t really let you know much about it. If they printed a list of wines by the glass it would be very helpful. Very busy place on a stormy night, some very large groups which affected service but we were fine with a slow paced evening.

Absolutely phenomenal dinner. The food was exceptional and the staff friendly, attentive and offer suggestions. My husband and I had dinner and it was one of - if not the best meal we have had in Nice.

It’s a difficult review the location very pretty in a very nice part of Nice let’s start with the service it’s all a little rushed no slowing this man down also his ad lib lines are well rehearsed but slightly ridiculous these guys are not for changing the very small menu is rigid great for the chef not so for the customer for example you can’t change a sauce why you can’t order a Irish coffee he has the ingredients but he doesn’t do Irish coffee why as said the menu is tiny the starter of scallops ( actually one scallop) was very delicious but a little too clever the main of chicken a little cold the poached pair like the restaurant over thought the price is fair considering the food it’s just all too clever nice evening would not go back though this is a good restaurant but nowhere as great as they think it is
