Both the food and the service are incredible. Unfortunately, less than halfway through our tasting menu the restaurant sat a rowdy party of 14 which really killed the nice vibe on the patio for the other tables. I could see the disappointment in the other tables faces as well. We rushed through the last part of the meal to get out of there.

Setting and food. Service was efficient, but we had a rotating service staff that kept interrupting to ask how everything was. It made us worry what they thought might be wrong. The som knew his local wines well and gave excellent suggestions

Service was good. Sometime little bit sloppy but overall good. Food was terrible and too expensive for the quality. Restrooms were filthy.

Location is pretty unique and romantic, if you have good company you don't mind the train keep passing, it was a nice breeze during the dinner and we set outside. we had to ask for bread sticks while other tables gets automatically, We prebook land and fire menu bit there was a little bit confusion, they started us with see food plates than we move to meat options, but we were not able to try the carpaccio which was unfortunate, food quality was top notch and taste really good, Emmanuel ( Manager ) was very kind and attentive. They work as a team and everyone one very attentive, wine pairing was great and server from Gunie was super nice, also lady who was helping us with wine was on top of his game and pairing timed perfecly, over all good experience but wasn't great. Thank you so much.

The food was not great, specially for a michelin star and very overpriced. The service was attentive but slow. Nothing memorable

Every aspect, the food, service & setting were incredible. Very polite & knowledgeable staff could not be more attentive. The grouper rolls were “just caught from the sea “ fresh. Every dish was delicious, beautiful & and an innovative creation of the chef. Buon appetite!!!

Food had the extra . Wine pairing and recommendation could have been better, but this is easy to fix. All in all a good experience

Food was excellent, we enjoyed it all. We had Sea & Air menu and we can recommend. We have ordered wine pairing and here we were not very happy. All wines were local and very good but not really matching the food courses. With one of the courses we’ve got 2 glasses of wine at the sime time.

Not only was the food innovative and delicious, the whole experience was delightful from the moment we walked in the door until our final moment of getting into the taxi.

The food at this restaurant is simply delicious. It is accompanied by truly good service, charming, friendly and helpful. Really worth the 5 minute taxi drive out of the centre of Taormina to visit; and a lovely view out across the sea.

Very fresh seafood and well cooked. The shrimp taste very good with the mushroom. The cacao pasta is also special, tastes incredible. You can have delicious food with sicily wine well paring and amazing sea view.

I had high expectations because it was a Michelin one-star restaurant. The food certainly looked good and the taste wasn't bad, but it was too elaborate and I wasn't impressed with the taste. I got the impression that the restaurant as a whole was making a lot of effort with the service. However, neither we nor the other customers were smiling all the time. Also, the prices were very high compared to other restaurants in Taormina. I also didn't like the system of having to order food several months in advance. Would I go again? No. I think this is what happens when a restaurant receives a Michelin rating, but we were disappointed.

Service was good except for the Som. Have been there before in 2021 and food was great. Very dissappointing this time in food.

Amazing service and the restaurant adjusted their menu to my gluten free friend and his pregnant wife. I was very happy about their flexibility and also they said that the food was amazing with a spectecular view.

Food average for a Michelin star. Service diabolical. Staff are more interested in the locals rather than the tourists who have taken time out to seek a decent restaurant. Avoid this place and support the smaller local restaurants that will appreciate your custom.

For $700CAD I expect better than spiderwebs between the posts of the patio, the constant shuffling of guests around who are asking for the seats next to the view, and an average of 20 minutes between courses. The dinner took us 3 hours to complete.

Beautiful view from the terrace, but service was hurried and disorganised, and while food presentation was great, in terms of flavours, both food and wine pairings weren't much to write home about. Unfortunately just not worth the Michelin star price

Overpriced. The restaurant is located on the highway, it was very hard to walk there. Very overpriced, 130’per person, food is very small portion and nothing special. Waitress doesn’t know how to explain about the food, and they always take away your plate before you even finish it. No good

I got severely sick that evening after eating your food. So disappointed and put a damper on my vacation. I would never recommend this place.

Haphazard service. Four different waiters, 30mins to take order, offered the olive oil half way through first course after the bread was finished. All of that I could accept as early season teething. Then my glass of wine was spilled all over me by the waitress. Not only did no one come to bring a napkin, wipe the table etc, the wine was not refilled and I was still charged. The food is also distinctly average, pasta arrived like warm and had a strange addition of breadcrumbs which does not work at all well in the dish. I expect next Michelin guide this place loses its star as all aspects were nowhere near the required standard. Super disappointing and would not recommend.

    La Capinera

Dear mr. Williams, Many thanks for been our guest at La Capinera, we must be very disappointed with you because you have been not professional to write a comments. Normally people do it writhing the truth and you did not. It is easy to write bad comments now. We apologise for the wine and this we sorry about. In Italy on the seafood pasta we normally do not use cheese because will over powering the flavours, we use in Sicily bread crumb flavoured with anchovy filets and this is very traditional in our country. Our prise are very well shown on the menus and on our website and you can not afford to spend this money we invite to visit other restaurants more easy. Best regards Pietro

Outstanding Sea and Air tasting menu and excellent service as well. Beautiful terrace setting overlooking the sea is only slightly marred by the occasional passing train below..

For a Michelin one-star restaurant, the food is just ok so in a sense, a bit disappointing.

Quite possibly the best resturaunt I’ve ever been to. I would recommend doing the full 8 course choice with wine pairing. The flavors were magnificent. Service was A+ and the overall feeling was incredible. Will be coming back again on my next visit!

Wonderful tasting menu, appreciate the kindness of the chef, who expertly helped us with our dietary requirements. Delicious food. Great wine list and expert sommelier. If you want to enjoy the amazing sea view best to go during the day.

Magnificent food, wine and service. The restaurant head and the sommelier were superb. Had the tasting menu with matching wines, all wonderful. The front desk host was a little judgy on our attire but everyone else was amazing. It should always be the money in your pocket not what you wear that should be judged in a Michelin star restaurant. Just think about Richard Branson.

Beautiful lunch, we had the 6 course sea and air taster menu. Each course was delicious, and the friendly service ran impeccably between courses. We went for wine pairing of 4 different wines, all of which worked well. Lovely setting overlooking the sea, a few trains went past whilst we were there, but not obtrusive, all part of the character! Overall cost was expensive, but in line with what we’d expect at a Michelin star restaurant.

The tasting menu was pretty good. Nothing extraordinary, nothing wrong. I loved the St. Jacques. The staff was nice, but not always noticing. We were out of water couple of times and waiting for a fork, once the dish was on the table. Also we had to wait a while for the service at the beginning, but maybe we just came to early. Could have been offered a glass of sparkling wine to make the waiting time nicer. At the end been charged a slightly more then should; coperto for 4 people, even though it was 3 of us. And wine a bit more expensive than in the winelist. I didn’t argue for the 10 or 15€, but I’m not sure if mistakes like this should happen in place like this. The ambience was the worst part; we felt like we were on the highway. Lot of cars on one side, trains on the other side. All in all, not bad, but not great. Been in some restaurants without the star that deserved it more.

Food was needlessly fancy, service was solid but not overly attentive. If this were not a Michelin star with michelin prices and expectations we’d have been pleased but it’s not good value now.

Excellent food and service, We took the 6-dish tasting menu and it was perfect. I was less impressed by the wine pairing (3-glass). Well deserved Michelin star. Nice view. The restaurant is located between a road and a railway so expect some noise.

We loved La Capinera! The wait staff were all professional, helpful and friendly. And the food was DELICIOUS! Our highlights were the potato ravioli, the vegetable soufflé with fondue sauce, and the marscapone mousse. We had a very pleasant evening and highly recommend this restaurant.
